Can these be speedily deleted if they are unattributed translations of English articles?
Other pages do not seem to be translations of English articles, but drafts on sub-topics of doubtful notability e.g. individual seasons or spin-off shows. I don't know why they would use enwiki to do this in Spanish. –

New ti Wikipedia but added Accidents and Incidents to Flair Airlines after a runway Excursion in November. You said the incident wasn't notable, but many airlines have their runway excursions listed in Wikipedia. Feels like this is more of a matter of your opinion than a matter of Wikipedia consistency.
Readsmorethanwrites (

Thanks for the ping there. Yes I agree, runway excursions are generally minor incidents, with little or no damage and no injuries or deaths. The most common case is a slightly high, or hot approach on a marginal length, wet runway and the nosewheel ends up off the end, in the mud. Embarrassing, but the aircraft is usually back in service quickly, after a deplane, tow and inspection. These are
WP:RUNOFTHEMILL as incidents go and in most cases just not notable for an encyclopedia article. As noted, if other articles have similar non-notable incidents they should be removed. Most are added by well-intentioned, but new editors, who just assume if it made the local news that it belongs in Wikipedia. See

Hi, I know this is really out of the blue, and please feel free to ignore this if it's too much, but I was wondering if I could ask a favour of you. I created an article on an Inuit politician,
Simonie Michael, and I brought it to GA. You've already helped to improve this article, bringing it to my attention that I didn't have the grammar quite right on Inuk/Inuuk/Inuit (you can still see traces of that conversation on the Talk Page). Now I've decided to
begin the push to get the article to FA. One big area that I know the article could improve in is images, but it's just so darn hard to even figure out where to begin in getting relevant photos. If I
Google Image search Simonie Michael I see two super grainy photos of him (basically the same photo), supposedly from some really old CBC article, but the article itself no longer has those images so I don't even know who they belong to! And the only other existing photo is a sculpture of his, which even if I could use it, wouldn't really make the article much better. So, here's where the favour comes in. I know that Cambridge Bay is extremely distant from Iqaluit, where Simonie Michael lived, but you're the only active Wikipedian I know of with a connection to Nunavut, so I was just wondering if you might have any connections or any ideas that might help to get a good photograph of anything related to Simonie Michael. I doubt we can get a photo of the man himself, but maybe someone could take a picture of a building similar to the ones that Simonie Michael's company built, or a photo of
Simonie Michael's boat at Apex beach, or anything more related than the random pictures of towns that I've currently populated the page with. Any ideas help! Thanks so much for any thought you might be able to give this. -

Thank you for a speedy response. I appreciate it. The references were reviewed by other writers and had a feedback from a reviewer in the wiki chat who said the references were enough to validate the notability of this artist. The artist gain media notability late last year through viral songs that charted in several apple music, spotify charts worldwide and articles. Is their a forum I could contest this or any additional recommendation from yourself on how to proceed with this.
This was #wikipedia-en-help I am not sure if I can send a link directly to it. I was working on a draft article that reference this artist and another one. As part of that discussion we discussed the work and references for this artist and another one (didn't work on that yet) and decided it was better to focus on just this artist and the other one instead because that original subject did not have enough references for notability. But this one did. My name in the chat room is RedLemur74.

You changed the page from crimean tatar gypsy to crimean tatar romani, but that is exactly the mistake. This group does not call themselves Romani. Therefore the term gypsy was correct. The translation of the self-designated word Cingene is gypsy not roma.
Please do not always compare all groups with this European Roma who do not want to call gypsy. Not every romani like group is a romani group.

CambridgeBayWeather, let me simplify, we should disambiguate
Palak Jain based on their birth year. I'm not going into notability aspect. Here as we know their are 4 different living person named Palak Jain and all are associated with the entertainment field. And only
Palak Jain is notable enough to have article on Wikipedia. So we should redirect the rest 3 blps to their debut tv series article. But changing the redirect location of
Palak Jain (Actress) to
Palak Jain is wrong as they both are different. This is all my suggestions and I'm not requesting or proposing deletion. Thanks

Better to redirect all of them to the existing article as

Mann Sundar has no real information on Jain. And

Hello, you removed the Wikipedia ChoCo1 (group) to

They are a sub-group of
ChoCo who don't yet have an article and neither does the label. See
Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles which says "Musicians or ensembles (this category includes bands, singers, rappers, orchestras, DJs, musical theatre groups, instrumentalists, etc.) may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria.". I have reversed the moves you made at both of these articles locations for the following reasons:
The average reader by default gets the 2023 if they simply search "river wild" in the WP search. They will likely not be looking for this article most often. Similarly, the new 2023 has also been referred to as "The River Wild", so some readers might be meaning to find it when they search "The River Wild". Directly both titles to the disambiguation page allows the reader to specify which of the articles they were wanting to read, should they type either of these searches. By allowing each article to have the year they were released, they can avoid these issues.

FYI: I added the flags back to the article because I read
MOS:FLAGS a couple of times and I don’t really see why it applies. It’s a table, not an infobox and it doesn’t introduce any POV issue to have flags there either.
NM 05:03, 18 August 2023 (UTC)reply
The flags are not appropriate as per
Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Icons#Inappropriate use in the subsections "Encyclopedic purpose" and "Do not use too many icons". And yes, I see that is saying icons but the page says "...icons encompasses any small images – including logos, crests, coats of arms, seals, flags". They are a lot of flags which are distracting and serve no encyclopedic purpose in that they don't add anything to the understanding of the article. Also see
Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Icons#Do not emphasize nationality without good reason.
In addition the use is inconsistent. Where are the Danish flags? Why do some countries not have flags? Why do some tables on the page not have flags?
Flag icons exist to help readers to visually distinguish items, and the list contains a whopping 132 entries. If you think there are too many icons, you can simply rowspan and collapse neighboring items into one.
I have read
MOS:FLAGCRUFT. It exists because 1) Wikipedia is not a place for nationalistic pride: having a lot of uninhabitable settlements seem like an odd thing to be proud of; 2) placing a national flag next to something can make its nationality or location seem to be of greater significance than other things wouldn’t apply either since this is literally an article focused on their locations.
If you think using the Greenland flag is inappropriate or noticed any missing flags,
you are welcome to fix those.
NM 21:59, 18 August 2023 (UTC)reply
What encyclopedic purpose do the flags provide? They are being used to decorate the article. In that case images of the settlement would be a better idea. As you point out there are 132 items and thus the list becomes a blur of colour that does nothing to distinguish one entry from another. By the way I didn't say anything about "nationalistic pride". I do think there are too many icons (and they don't contribute to the list) and I did fix it by simply removing them.

I think it would be best to keep the snow color blue because that is the standard for US weatherboxes. Canada has the green snow color in their weatherboxes. I don't think that it's very problematic to read the "sea of blue."
Akamaikai (

Except that some US boxes use blue and some green. It's not just the sea of blue but mainly that snow is a type of precipitation, as is rain, and it should be consistent. Either precipitation is all blue or all green. If it's all blue in a warmer area it's less of a problem but blue in colder areas creates a problem. See
Template talk:Weather box/Archive 6 (the first box) for an example. It gets worse if you have wind chills and temperatures in the blue as well.

I was looking at the Deletion Log and saw you took care of a lot of files labeled CSD F8, or ones that were sitting in categories in
Category:Wikipedia files with the same name on Wikimedia Commons. I don't work much with files and am frankly intimidated by the list of factors that the instructions say one needs to check before deleting a file for really any speedy deletion criteria. And yet, I frequently see bulk deletion of these files by different administrators. Am I taking the instructions too literally or do admins actually perform these thorough checks before carrying out deletion? Since I review the log, it's a question I've had for a while and since you just cleaned out these categories, I'm hoping you can fill me in on the process.
Many thanks and I hope 2024 is starting off well for you! LizRead!Talk! 23:03, 9 January 2024 (UTC)reply
For the Category:Wikipedia files with the same name on Wikimedia Commons I open the file on here and quickly check it out and remember to scroll down the page to see the information. If it's user uploaded then easy enough. Just make sure it's on Commons and has the same tags as here and shows the same uploader.
If it's a file like
File:TheKominskyMethod.png that relies on being simple enough to not be copyrighted I look to see if another editor has reviewed it. If so then just make sure it's on Commons and has the same tags as here and shows the same uploader. If it hasn't been reviewed then you need to check it out. There were a bunch of Lego files that I had to double check earlier. The
File:LEGO logo.svg is OK on Commons but I also had to check that
File:Indiana Jones logo.svg was OK before I deleted the local
File:Lego Indiana Jones logo.png.
With different names on Commons you have to check and see if the local file is being used and if it is then do
this. But it's the same process.
The first few times I did this it did take much longer, and I found it intimidating, but after a while you can quickly see if there are differences in the pages. The main thing is if you make a mistake don't dig your heels in and everything can be reversed.

Not sure what to do, but you made a mistake and I probably compounded it
From 1928 to 1942 there were two airlines, *BOTH* called Canadian Colonial Airways. One was American - the parent. The other was Canadian, the 100% subsidiary.
Yes, the US corporation, a US airline, was confusing called Canadian Colonial Airways, Inc. The Canadian was the same name, except "Limited" rather than "Incorporated".
In 1942 two things happened - the Canadian version died and the US version was renamed Colonial Airlines.
In the official record, the Canadian company is distinguished by being called "Limited".
I was in the middle of adding references when you moved "Canadian Colonial Airways, Limited" to "Canadian Colonial Airways". But that is not where it should be located. "Canadian Colonial Airways", despite the name, the more prominent of the two related companies was the American version, which survived until 1956 under the name (from 1942) of "Colonial Airlines".
Yes, this is confusing. But the historical record is clear.
So, "Canadian Colonial Airways" properly should be a redirect to "Colonial Airlines". There should be a separate article for the Canadian version of the company. I am open to suggestions to what to call the article that refers to the Canadian version of the company, but "Canadian Colonial Airways" needs to point to "Colonial Airlines".
So, when I tried saving the references, it told me you had moved the article. I saved over the article, which is probably not the right thing to do, but I didn't want to lose my work.
Enplaned (

Then the Canadian version should have moved to
