On 14 October 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article List of number-one adult contemporary singles of 2008 (U.S.), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that " Bleeding Love", a song performed by Leona Lewis, is her first and only song to reach number one on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of number-one adult contemporary singles of 2008 (U.S.). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. At the first FLC you nommed, an additional batch of comments has recently been added. Since the exemption allowing a second FLC nom calls for all substantial comments to be responded to as well, those should be done before a second nom is put up. Once that is done, consider my discretion given. Giants2008 ( Talk) 00:20, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

I saw in the revision history of Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of songs recorded by Alexandra Burke/archive1 that you named me Andrew-- which is the first name of User:Adabow, there is no correlation between me and that user except that I named my account after him because I respected/ admired his work and couldn't come up with a account name myself. The 2012 WikiCup has come to a close; congratulations to Cwmhiraeth ( submissions), our 2012 champion! Cwmhiraeth joins our exclusive club of previous winners: Dreamafter (2007), jj137 (2008), Durova (2009), Sturmvogel 66 (2010) and Hurricanehink (2011). Our final standings were as follows:
Prizes for first, second, third and fourth will be awarded, as will prizes for all those who reached the final eight. Every participant who scored in the competition will receive a ribbon of participation. In addition to the prizes based on placement, the following special prizes will be awarded based on high performance in particular areas of content creation. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, the prize is awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round.
Awards will be handed out in the coming days; please bear with us! This year's competition also saw fantastic contributions in all rounds, from newer Wikipedians contributing their first good or featured articles, right up to highly experienced Wikipedians chasing high scores and contributing to topics outside of their usual comfort zones. It would be impossible to name all of the participants who have achieved things to be proud of, but well done to all of you, and thanks! Wikipedia has certainly benefited from the work of this year's WikiCup participants.
Next year's WikiCup will begin in January. Currently, discussions and polls are open, and all contributions are welcome. You can also sign up for next year's competition. There will be no further newsletters this year, although brief notes may be sent out in December to remind everyone about the upcoming competition. It's been a pleasure to work with you all, and we hope to see you all in January! J Milburn ( talk • email) and The ed17 ( talk • email) 00:17, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Till, Tomica, Status, you are involved with about 3 ANI's to do with varying issues, and are all having a go at each other and getting nowhere. I'd advise that you Till has no contact with Tomica and Status, and that Tomica and Status have no contact with Till. If none of you talk to each other, no harm can be done. Things are now being done out of spite and things are becoming personal, such as disputes over GA nominating, quick-failing, threats, editing warring, personal attacks and mass editing (my watchlist consists purely of your three lots of combined edits at the moment!). I've been in this situation before and the best way is to just ignore each other, give it time, and things become civil again. That's my advice to all thee of you, take it or leave it :-). I'm not taking sides for anyone, I'm just calling it as I see it. (Replies are welcome but please don't turn my talk page into something like an ANI discussion!). I am in no position to be asking this but I am saying this as it could turnaway new contributors (who aren't aware of the rules) feeling they have been bitten. In this case, I think a kind [user] talk page message would be more appropriate and effective. Also, you edit was reverted so I reverted it back to your version but also removed the block warning as it is not appropriate (no admin will/should block just because a user removed a redirect, specially if that hidden message was their only warning.) Feel free to correct me if wrong.Again, I write this in good faith. :) -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 03:57, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
"Not constructive"? Are you joking? I removed masses of word-for-word repeated text. I got rid of some absolutley diabolical phrases (e.g. "production of the song was helmed by" - helmed by???) as well as lazy vocabulary so beloved of crap music writers ("garnered" for got or received, "debut" for first etc.) "Upon" means physically on top of, not at the time of. To describe my edits as vandlism I regard as insulting. This is an encyclopaedia and demands to be written in the highest standards of English, not as a throw out from the worst excesses of music journalism. I've reverted . Now this era has sunk in I am so disappointed with the whole album. It has real potential but it just feels like a jumbled mess. Trouble was an aweful first single and Collide is a mess that should have never happened. The cover/styling is off and Lovebird video is a hot mess. They pick the song with the worst lyrics to release as the album's second single. Since they're trying to salvage a mess they should have opted for the title song, at least it would have made a big impact headlines-wise if not on the charts. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 10:00, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Firstly reporting it as 'vandalism' is very extreme. Vandalism is not a term to use lightly here and is usually reserved for IP edits especially when someone is making nonsensical changes to an article. It is a minor edit to the genre of the song which is identified as a mixture of pop and dancehall. If you read what reggae fusion is (a mixture of reggae/dancehall with other genres), the song falls under the genre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggae_fusion
The song is essentially a dancehall song with pop elements. The beat/instrumental is a dancehall riddim called "high altitude". i live in Jamaica hence my vast knowledge on the area. The riddim had already existed when Rihanna used it as the instrumental for the song and is one of many songs which uses the riddim. http://www.soundquake.com/item/632865928812267548.html
Here's a reference to it being classified as reggae fusion http://www.timelinkz.com/songs.php?searchReq=Reggae+fusion

Unfortunately having "trance beats" doesn't make a song trance. As per a discussion at Talk:What's_My_Name?_(Rihanna_song)#Genre_Revert, "beats" would be classified as one element of a song but the genre of the beats do not translate into the genre of the song. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 20:14, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

On 26 December 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Lovebird (song), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the second single from Leona Lewis' third studio album Glassheart was originally going to be "Fireflies", but " Lovebird" was released instead? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lovebird (song). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Hi Calvin,
I hope you had a nice Christmas?
Just wondered why you went ahead and created a page with a redirect for every song on Glassheart? As far as I am aware this is not standard practise, and by doing this it means that an administrator has to get involved if someone else wants to create an article. For example if I was to create an article in a sandbox, I'd have to ask an administrator to delete the redirected page and then perform a WP:HISTMERGE to ensure that the edit history of the sandbox is preserved whilst ensuring that any content from the user sandbox is transferred over correctly. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 13:59, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
