I've got the Stefan Booth interview out of Inside Soap so I thought I'd leave you the few questions with potential to use.
Who would win a fight between Greg and Max?
It depends what Greg's fighting for, and if his life depended on it. But Greg would do his best to avoid fisticuffs. If he had to fight over anything, it would definitely be over Tanya, or their love together. That's one thing he'd step up for.
What was your EastEnders audition like?
It was fun, but I didn't expect to get the job at all. I usually go in expecting the worst, then if anything happens it's great. That tends to keep me relaxed. I really love EastEnders, so I suppose the idea of landing the job was just so brilliant I couldn't pin all my hopes on getting it, or I'd of been a nervous wreck!
Is it good playing a nice guy, or are you hoping Grag's dark side will surface?
Greg's tough, but gentle. He's fundamentally a nice guy, and it's rare to get that in a soap. He seems very straightforward, so it's refreshing for Tanya to have that influence in her life.
Nobody needs to do anything. If there's no reception, it can't be found. If it's not split off, it's not the end of the world. Not everything needs a separate article! You're acting like you want everything split off. –

Welcome to the new EE newsletter! This is a new thing that I am trying out, so make sure once it's out, give me feedback! If you want to recieve the newsletter, just tell me on my userpage.
We are looking for new editors for the newsletter for future issues. If you are interested in helping shape the newsletter to focus on new areas or submit individual stories, we can use your help! The newsletter can be edited by all members of the project, and we are always seeking new volunteers. Instructions will be provided on how to develop the newsletter each month. Any interest and/or questions can be submitted to
MayhemMario.
One EE article is available for review at WP:GAN. This is
Yusef Khan. As members of this project are more familiar with WP:EE guidelines for EE articles, input at these reviews can be helpful for determining if they meet all good criteria. Other articles can also be found at WP:PR looking for helpful comments.
Based on views, the top five most popular character articles from our project this month were: Mandy Salter, Syed Masood, Tanya Branning, Ronnie Mitchell, and Janine Butcher. For a list of our project's top 500 most popular articles, see here. Consider helping to improve one of these articles that is seen by thousands to millions of people each month.
Remember to always add the {{
WikiProject EastEnders|class=}} template to a EE article's talk page so the project can get a better idea of what work still needs to be done. If you believe that an article should be assessed at a certain class assess the article yourself (it's not too difficult to determine the basic classes such as stubs, categories, or lists).
Spotlight Update: One EE article has reached GA status in June 2011.
Remember that any editor can give the
WikiProject EE Award to another WP:EE member. If you do present this award, please make mention of it here or tell one of the newsletter editors who will then include it in the next issue.
Please add your name to the member list if you have not already.
If you've just joined, add your name to the
Wikipedia:WikiProject EastEnders. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered to your userpage. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy!
Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the
next issue (Issue 7 – July 2011). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

A tag has been placed on
Tony Discipline requesting that it be
speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the
criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the
guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you can assert the notability of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
You're a star the way you have been working to add sources and real world info to the EE character articles. Just wanted to say, it's appreciated :) GunGagdinMoan17:35, 13 August 2011 (UTC)reply
The reception section you added reads like it's been directly copied and pasted. That's a copyright violation, unless the text was released under a free licence in the first place, which I doubt. Please re-write this section, instead of just copying and pasting entire chunks from sources. Quotes are fine, but the bits in between need amending. Thanks. –

Please do not revert changes made by OTRS agents in their official capacity when you're explicitely asked not to. We never make controversial edits and "hide" them behind the OTRS seal. I'm sorry I can't understand this. This whole discussion has made a lot of the articles factually wrong? If a character such as
May Wright left in June 2007 and returned in June 2008, she did not appear continuously from 2006-2008 did she? She appeared from 2006-2007 and then for a one off appearance in 2008?

Think about it though. If a character recurs every year, like Sal Martin, then it would be awkward and untidy to put 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 when its's easier to put 1996— or 1996–2011?

I came across
this revert you made by
User:Joshua Guest, where you called it vandalism, which consisted of He is the son of
Pat Evans and
Brian Wicks and is also the young half brother of
David Wicks, which
Brian_Wicks#Brian_Wicks seems t say that this is at least plausible. I also noted
this reversion that you called vandalism, but the citation seems to indicate the information claimed. Now, as to the accuracy of the information, I have no idea, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to why this is vandalism. It looks like a conflict between you two over the content of the article, but the edits (regardless of quality) appear to be
in good faith. I couldn't help but notice
this warning, which was a level 4 warning you put on his page for vandalism, where there had never been a prior warning. (He has only had one problem with removing speedy tags, which is unrelated). This looks a lot like
biting the new comer. More importantly, I find no discussion about the inclusions / exclusion on the talk page for the article, and the only communications you seem to have had with the editor is to give him a level 4 warning to block him. By anyone's standards, this is a very harsh first warning to give any editor.
The guidelines on
vandalism say Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia., so unless he is obviously adding this cited material, or this material that appears to be backed up with other Wikipedia articles for the purpose of undermining Wikipedia, it isn't vandalism. Content that you disagree with or that you feel is inaccurate, but added in good faith, is not vandalism. If there is something else I missed, please tell me. Otherwise, please be careful how you label fellow editor's contributions, regardless of your perception of their quality.

George, reception sections are meant for analysis and critique from sources other than those close to the subject matter. I'm not sure a section to what Forman thinks is a good example of a reception section. Too much weight is being placed on what Foreman has harped on abgout as it is. I've offered some source which could help build a section, above.

I agree with Rain, though after Rain moved it were left we a quote from Jaqi and I.M.O. its terrible why on earth is that related/aimed at Derek? It should be put in reception for the The Branning family.
MayhemMario21:58, 30 November 2011 (UTC)reply
Well I'd say that "terrible" is a little strong. While the original comment was aimed at the Branning siblings in general, she did mention Derek and it was said she watched his return to the show, so it does relate to Derek.
RaintheOneBAM22:15, 30 November 2011 (UTC)reply

I don't get why you insist on reverting my changes? It was NEVER announced on 13 November 2011 that David Wicks would return to EastEnders on New Year's Day; it just said that he'd be returning for Pat's departure storyline. It was hardly a major alteration was it, and I think once again, it's just being pretentious to revert it.

If you are right about the it being announced on the 13, just pull the source up and move on. You are being quite confronting Jack. It does not help you coming here and calling GSorby: boring, tedious, pretentious, said he acts superior and is ingorant.
RaintheOneBAM19:22, 24 December 2011 (UTC)reply

MayhemMario19:25, 24 December 2011 (UTC)reply
Where have I called him boring, tedious or ignorant? The use of boring and tedious was used to reflect his actions whereby he's constantly reverting my changes, I haven't said he's boring nor tedious, and neither have I called him ignorant: his actions reflect ignorance, doesn't mean he is ignorant so I don't buy those arguments.
JackJackUK (

I do not understand what you gain from claiming you did not say those things - when they are clear to see for everyone... You just admitted you called his actions "Boring and tedious" which is directed at him. You clearly said "It's just ignorance" and "it's just being pretentious to revert it". You labelled GSorby's actions as "ignorance".. Personally I'd save up those pennies and get buying. ;)
RaintheOneBAM19:05, 25 December 2011 (UTC)reply
Have you read what I put? Once again, I never said I didn't say those things, I said I didn't call him those things, I called what he said those things, and there clearly is a difference. If I say what someone does is boring and tedious, it does not mean they personally are boring and tedious does it? We've all been arrogant, ignorant and whatever so stop trying to put words into my mouth which I'm clearly not trying to portray.

Hey, i've got a bit of a query that I need to sort out and thought you might be able to help. You know how in EE, Mercy first appeared in E20 and it was later announced that she would join EE? Well her first appearance in her infobox is her first appearance in EE rather than E20.. so, the character of Lynsey in Hollyoaks is the same as Mercy as she first appeared in Hollyoaks Later in 2008 then in 2010 it was announced that she would join Hollyoaks full time, so what would be the first appearance date the one from Hollyoaks later or actually Hollyoaks as there has been some debate about this. I would be grateful for your help, thank you. :)--

If Hollyoaks Later is a spin-off, then the first appearance date should be the 2010 one because that is when she joined the actual regular cast. Change it to 2010 and keep Hollyoaks Later in the spin-off appearances :-)

Sources
Hi, hear your working on Kat, could you use this as a source
Hi, Im guessing this was aimed at me, what im trying to say is:
We never link Devon Higgs right? As it just redirects back to the character-
So for example when writing
Morgan Jackson King (
Devon Higgs), you might aswell be putting Morgan twice as they both link to the same thing. Thats why we dont link Ben (Pascoe), Anthony (Lapinskas) or Tyler (Discipline). We can always say "link them as the article will be created", but if we keep saying this, were not going to have any guidelines. Do you get me?
MayhemMario20:42, 31 January 2012 (UTC)reply
No, not really. Leave the links, especially red ones. What if someone clicks on it and thinks "oh a redirect, I guess I'll make this"? At least if they are redlinked or redirected then it's easier for people.
MOS:TV if you're that bothered...
GSorby –
Ping20:45, 31 January 2012 (UTC)reply
Oh, dear ive must have not explained it very well then.
Matt Lapinskas is not a red link. Neither is any of the others. They are redirects redirecting back to the character article, so when writing for example
Shenice Quinn (
Lily Harvey), it might aswell be
Shenice Quinn (
Shenice Quinn). There is no point of having two links to the same article. I think other users would agree with me, (hope!), and also when they type in Lily Harvey (as it is not linked in the main article), they'll see it is a redirect. Made more sense?
MayhemMario20:49, 31 January 2012 (UTC)reply

My point exactly. People are less likely to create the page if it isn't linked. They might only notice the page doesn't exist if a redlink shows or the redirect isn't linked. Basic stuff here.

Mario, some important storyline information is more than welcome in the lead. I do not recall it being discussed anywhere either. You just removed the whole thing - the lead is meant to be a summary of important information from the article. I think you removed some of that. When removing information we are advised to not throw the baby out with the bathwater. As for the arguement itself, the one above, nothing good can come of it.
Rainthe 103:19, 3 February 2012 (UTC)reply
I deleted the plot from the lead on say Lydia, as it explained the plot before you had even read the seperate section, the same with Cora and her candlesticks, I think plot is more suited to characters who have had more storylines. 15:43, 4 February 2012 (UTC)reply
Another question should Leanne's duration be: 1997–2000, 2004–06, 2007— because she took maternity leave in 2006 and return in 2007, or should it just be: 1997–2000, 2004— (e.g. 1997–2000 (original stint), 2004— (official return))--
AcidBrights (

As for the relationship with Nick, you can put that under a section of his own bearing in mind if it has enough text say, at least a paragraph. And the duration shouldn't count any short breaks so yes, the duration should be 1997–2000, 2004— :)

Well, I would love to help :-) Maybe I could sort out the storylines and all the navboxes. I would also be happy to sort out the casting and personality sections while you can sort out the development? I can do the lead as well :-)

Hey there GSorby. I guess your RFA is not going well. I'm leaving a note out here to tell you that you shouldn't take this to heart or anything like that. I do realize that you mean well in attempting to contribute more towards the project through administration. But many a time, an RfA applicant might not be able to understand what the community expects of prospective administrators. I feel that's the situation in your case. May I comment at this juncture that I'll be more than pleased to guide you in the future on how you should go about understanding the various facets of administration? This talk page note is also intended to be my personal !vote of confidence in you and the fact that you can in the future become an administrator, but only if you really wish to. Again, let this current RfA not put you down. Every edit that you make for the betterment of this project is highly appreciated by all of us. Kind regards.

Awww I was going to vote Support but they closed your RfA! We need more content contributing admins. Better luck next time. --

@Surturz: Your question about a term limit and then opposing because candidates don't agree to it is ridiculus. I have been following your RfA contributions all the way up to Ks0stm's RfA and this is just, I repeat, ridiculous. I'm not telling you how you should vote or ask questions but, you have encountered resistance and opposition from other editors about your vote based off only the question you ask. No candidate I know that has worked hard is going to apply for adminship just to retire from it after a year or two. This user is allowed to retain it as long as the community still trusts this user or is abusing the tools. As I am also told, asking more than 2 questions can be quite disruptive. You may wish to limit your questions.
Cyberpower678, I don't think GSorby's talk page is a good place to discuss Surturz's questions, and besides, Surturz was merely leaving a friendly note here. GSorby, I hope you won't be discouraged by the outcome of the RfA: keep up the good work you do. Best.

Yups, I hunted the mag down and also added some other reception bits I found. They were just bits really, so it was quicker than scanning.

As you have seen from my edit to Anthony, I have decreased it a lot. Some of the information was stupid, some if it was just to quote(ish), so I cancelled it down a lot. Im not sure if Anthony is GA material yet, I hope you get a good reviewer. I've made the sandbox
User:MayhemMario/sandbox:Anthony Moon which has the edit to Anthony (the one you reverted), aswell as some more information, on Amira, Derek, ect. This looks better. I've done a few changes aswell, the plot is clearer. Here are just a few things I found:
I think one reference was listed as 'Hachette' instead of 'Hearst'.
NEVER call Bryan Kirkwood 'Bryan', always mention him by his last name.
You could try and ask June for the Inside Soap interview, rather than sourcing it from MSN.
Again, Walford Web not a great source, its reporting on something from Radio Times.
Theres no need to have Bryan Kirkwood listed as EP in every plot reference.
Some webistes are not linked, RTE is an example.
The plot is and isnt soruced.
Link all people, in plot, Eddie, Tyler, Michael.
Craig is in the lead (may have been me), but not metioned in plot, is he neccesary?
Hi. When you recently edited

Hey G. I've noticed you're using a lot of quotes in the articles you edit (Anthony Moon caught my eye in particular). Quotes are good, especially when they explain things better than you or I could. However, using too much copyrighted text is prohibited and more often than not the text can be paraphrased and improved. I probably use a lot of quotes in my edits too, in fact I think it was brought up once in a GA, so I'm also learning not to add so many. The temptation is there though, especially when actors talk non-stop about a particular storyline. I found the
WP:QUOTEFARM essay a really useful read. Thank you for the new Lewis image, btw. I was thinking of asking for a new one that didn't just show one side of his face. -
JuneGloomTalk20:25, 14 February 2012 (UTC)reply
I was just curious as to why you've added Lewis Archer to your list of expanded articles? Or is that section for any articles you've edited? -

"columnist
Grace Dent commented on Danson's decision to return to the show in 2007 saying: "so Leanne Battersby's back on Coronation Street, again. We knew Leanne would come back. She's played by Jane Danson, one of those rare thesps who knows which side her bread's buttered on. With excellent wages, regular hours and maximum TV exposure you'd imagine most actors would kill to be a soap opera staple."
"Speaking to Inside Soap about the plot, Danson commented: "Leanne has never really given her birth mother a second thought because she's not been in her life. Her dad Les and stepmum Janice were together for a long time, so Janice always took on that mother role. Having said that, Leanne's always known Janice by her first name, so she hasn't called anyone 'Mummy'." Asked how Leanne reacts to the discovery, Danson added: "You'll have to wait and see! She'll either be over the moon to have her real mother in her life, or she'll be absolutely furious that she's been absent all these years."
Leanne decides to stir up as much trouble as she can. I've got a few explosive scenes with Adam and Samia... great shouting and screaming catfights in the Rovers and down the cobbles. I don't think she loves Nick any more. There's maybe a spark for all of 20 seconds but it soon passes and she remembers what he's like. Leanne's just meddling with his mind. It feels really nice to be part of the cast again, although it took a few weeks to get bedded in. Now it's like I've never been away
Danson commented on her return: They're having a ball in this really seedy bar, eyeing up the ladies. Les spots Leanne from behind and says, 'Wow look at that'. She turns round and he realises to his horror it's his daughter. Les shouts, 'What are you doing here?' But Leanne is wondering exactly the same about him. Of course, Patrick doesn't realise it's Les's daughter. He gropes Leanne's bum and she gives him a good wallop. It causes such a commotion they all get chucked out and Leanne is sacked. She also lived in a room above the bar and suddenly has nowhere to stay. So Les offers to take her home to No.5
Danson said she found it hard to work on Coronation Street as her 10-month-old son Harry was asleep before she left and was in bed upon finishing filming.[1] Danson commented: "As much as I love my job I miss Harry incredibly," she admits. "He's happy, he's with his dad and he's absolutely fine, but I feel I'm being pulled in two directions and not giving 100 per cent to anybody. I feel completely torn. I need to work and to provide for Harry, but I also feel terribly guilty that I'm not there. I pine for him and feel this need to be with him constantly. With Leanne's current storyline I'm working long days. Harry wakes up at 7am but I leave the house about 6.30am and when I get home he's usually gone to bed. But I'm not on my own - a lot of the cast have got kids and they tell me it does get easier. I ache for him sometimes, but I think I would be forever kicking myself if I hadn't come back to work. I love being in Coronation Street. I've worked really hard to get this far and this is Harry's future too."[1] When Danson was presented with her return scripts, she was shocked to see that she was returning as a escort girl.[1] Danson added: "I'm not going to pretend that initially thought it was great. Coronation Street has never done a story like that before and I was worried people wouldn't like it. When I read the scripts I thought it just was a funny storyline - Leanne was charging people for her company while they took her out for a slap-up dinner. But when it turned out she carried on after dinner, I thought, 'Oh God!' "Thankfully it's not been seedy and I think she will redeem herself in the end."[1] A Coronation Street insider added: "Soon after arriving back Leanne wonders what the hell she has come back to. There are some cracking storylines lined up for her."
|I suppose it's an open book at the moment. I'd quite like to see Maria and Nick get together. It'll be interesting because working with Adam was lovely. We were really close at the time. He's abroad now so I wonder whether they'll go for someone very similar looking or if they'll go completely in a new direction. I don't think it really matters. Viewers get used to new actors and they accept them. It'll be interesting to see which way they go.|4=Danson explains the potential of Nick's return.
Nick started with Tina, then he moved to Kelly. I'm getting through the whole of the Street, I'll be on to Rita by the end of the year!" [2] Price added that he is expecting a storyline to develop between Nick and Leanne.[2] He added: "You'll see him bump into Leanne soon. I'm sure stuff will come out of that - there's a story there."[2] Asked whether if he wants to see Leanne and Nick to get back together, Price said: "There'd have to be a big journey to get to that point, but yeah, I would. But who knows? I don't know how it's going to go! But I think that would be great. But I think it could also be great if there's someone else on the Street who could come into his life. It's nice to keep spicing things up, really."

Copyrighted material being copy and pasted over. There is a massive problem with plagiarism on Wikipedia atm - this is a step above it. We are advised to paraphrase, cut things downs etc, go after the most important parts... From an editing point of view, it is not really telling the story either. It is just Danson said, Danson added, Danson also added, Danson also added to.
Rainthe 121:52, 20 February 2012 (UTC)reply
Ah I see your point. JuneGloom brought this up with me last week. I wasn't aware of any plagiarism issues but from now on, I will cut down and use only important parts from sources and paraphrase them if possible, even if it is tempting to cut and paste a juicy quote.

Hi, you know the Derek Branning quote you just uploaded? The one about him beign in a coat, hat, etc, you could upload an image for that. :)

Thanks for uploading File:Nick Cotton (1985).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a
claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see
our policy for non-free media).
Um... excuse me, but why would you want to upload a newer version to this page? For historical purposes, there is no need to remove it from your watchlist if deleted. For example, the new version was uploaded into
File:Cheers cast 1982 bw.jpg by someone else for the Cheers article, and I did not accept that and then reverted that because I don't like someone intruding my image page of a non-free image. Therefore, it evolved into
File:Cheerscast1982fullcastwendtratz.jpg, while the other was orphaned and then deleted. Meanwhile, I still have "File:Cheers cast 1982 bw.jpg" in my watchlist. Maybe you should not remove it from your watchlist; instead, if concerned, go to
WP:REFUND if an image may be deleted and if you save a name in your watchlist. --

I knew this would be a repeat of "Pauline Fowler" image debate in case of a living person. To be honest, that page treats this image as if it were of a mere fictional character; my page treats a "real person" fairly and rationalizes a fair use of the living person. You talk history, but I don't know why history of an image page is that important. Wait... don't try
WP:NFR; that page is almost deadbeat. --

Trying to not to sound mean, im not sure if Lorraine should have her own article just yet. She has only appeared in 4 episode prior to her return, then a few up untill next week, then later in the year. But, if the character has notablity then I guess her article can be made. Just a heads up, just do not want Wikipedia to be a fansite. I hope I have not offended you in any way, this was not a moan!
MayhemMario16:36, 5 March 2012 (UTC)reply
I don't want a repeat of Pauline Fowler and Nick Cotton; I just still wish that images of living people should not be treated as images of mere fictional characters nowadays, and I still hope that replacing image page with another image page is more acceptable, as previous file revisions are orphaned and then deleted. If I give this link (
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/nick-berry-eastenders-return-mirrorcouks-172350), and you only upload it in a same page rather than a new page, there's no turning back, and my plans to replace your images with different pages will go to waste, and my talents.... I don't know. --

I really think the main image to this article needs changing. She's got a different haircut now, just like Tamwar's got new glasses. It's funny how the characters change over the four-day schedule. 777 —
