Use of fan images in Tolkien character articles

Hi, I see that you've been adding fan-made artwork and costume photographs to some Tolkien character articles' infoboxes. This is against long-standing practice on the Middle-earth WikiProject, and ‎GimliDotNet and I have accordingly reverted those edits. We do sometimes use such images within the project, but they are clearly of a different character to either Tolkien's own artwork or the professional art and design work associated with Peter Jackson's films, and the project has never considered fan art and photos suitable for use at the top of Middle-earth articles. Sorry to disappoint, and thank you in advance for your understanding. All the best, Chiswick Chap ( talk) 08:29, 4 July 2021 (UTC) reply

Tips for images

Hi there - when adding images to articles, please note:

  • Image captions should not be bolded. Article titles are only bolded the first time they appear in the article's lead.
  • When adding a thumb, please be sure to include a short caption describing the image.

Thanks for your contributions! ~ Super Hamster Talk Contribs 23:32, 5 July 2021 (UTC) reply
