Discrimination

The moment any research or statement are being made to discriminate against any group it should not be published. How do you want to rewrite an article to support segregation in 2021. In addition no one can really acclaim the rules of the loas everyone make their story as they go sigma in the Haitian community Ankhafi ( talk) 09:26, 1 August 2021 (UTC) reply

Ankhafi, did you read my version?? If not, why are you accusing me of discrimination? I'm not writing an article to support segregation in 2021. As a deep tone black woman I don't need to learn about segregation from white people (or their pet) who have chosen sexual orientation as a sledgehammer to silence basic truths and facts. My article merely pointed out the proven view that Vodou is not a RELIGION, nor is it ADVOCATING any particular lifestyle. I provided 3 classic studies on Vodou and if you as a member of Lakou vodou should know that Vodou is a) historically misrepresented; b) vodouvi are discriminated against c) vodou does not advocate homosexuality e) the Loas are energies and therefore don't have sexual lives nor gender orientation. I'm interested in the TRUTH. Diversity is a beautiful word that's being thrown around but it can't be based on falsehood. Any one can enter a vodou space but a particular group who are mostly non-Haitians (I doubt a Haitian person wrote this wikipedia page) don't get to define it for the people who invented the practice. In response to your "no one can really acclaim the rules of the loas", I'll say the loas themselves have already spoken: they've never come down and claim to be homosexual, heterosexual, transgender or whatever new identity that's thrown around. Also, the person who wrote the article CLEARLY ACCLAIMED the rules of the loas. Why don't you send you tell them that as well. Peace to you sister and Ayibobo.

Agaou Your edit summaries are at odds with what you just said. By stating an article is “clearly written by white non-Haitians” is absurd. How do you know that? Are there white Haitians? Could the original editor have been a black Haitian or even someone from another country who practices Voodoo and knows as much if not more than you do? And all your railing about cultural appropriation and homophobic statements in comments and edit summaries shows your true colors.

Whoever is the original author of this article, that person clearly either does not know anything about Haitian society or just doesn't care about what Haitians believe in. That's my basis for writing that the article is "clearly written by white non-Haitians". An LGBT Haitian could even write this piece but I doubt that person unless they'd drunk would write that Vodou accepts homosexuality or that the Loas themselves are gay, lesbians, and transgenders. All I know is that an LGBT person who reads this and doesn't use judgement and go to a Haitian and/or African vodou space, they'll have a major case of cognitive dissonance.

Agaou Wedo, I have social work and public health training amd have worked in the mental health field. But you don’t need my background to see that you have a great deal of anger and a chip on your shoulder. This is not the place to work out your issues. Please take your personal issues to someone you trust so you can find peace. BostonMensa ( talk) 22:34, 11 August 2021 (UTC) reply
