Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 76.167.122.195, removed content from the page AT&T without giving an explanation. Please always provide an informative edit summary when removing content from pages. If 76.167.122.195 is a shared IP address and you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors and further irrelevant notices.

Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or type {{ helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page AT&T has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. Taking Out The Trash ( talk) 23:11, 11 July 2023 (UTC) reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Hello, I'm SafariScribe. I noticed that you recently removed content from San Diego Padres without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. NXcrypto ( talk) 06:23, 29 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Non-autoconfirmed user rapidly reverting edits

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to every single MLB stadium article. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted. If you are the same person that made these mass unilateral edits back in 2023 to all of these articles, you should disclose that fact. As you probably know, WP:SOCK explains why that's not a permissible practice. Fred Zepelin ( talk) 23:04, 29 May 2024 (UTC) reply

I am going to state plainly that this IP is not me. And I agree with you Fred, the phrasing used is unidiomatic and unacceptable. oknazevad ( talk) 00:47, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
Fred Zepelin, do we really need a link to Home (sports)? Drmies ( talk) 01:02, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
@ Drmies: I have no strong feeling about including a link to Home (sports). The issue I raised (I went into more detail on this at WP:BASEBALL) is that saying "It is the ballpark of" is, as oknazevad said, "unidiomatic and unacceptable" (I was not referring to Oknazevad as the possible editor behind this IP, that was a totally different editor). Fred Zepelin ( talk) 16:22, 2 June 2024 (UTC) reply
@ Drmies: heads-up, this is probably the same editor that's also using 108.147.175.113. To the IP editor: registering isn't required, but if you're editing contentiously from multiple IPs and acting like you're different people, that is a version of WP:SOCK. Fred Zepelin ( talk) 16:29, 2 June 2024 (UTC) reply
I've been blocked for reverting edits made by Fred. I was just trying to help. I think he is making decisions for every article that need to be discussed first. The top of the "List of current Major League Baseball stadiums" article refers to them as ballparks. Home (sports) is not ideal. It was discussed on the Truist Park talk page. 76.167.122.195 ( talk) 01:17, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
As I explained in the very first paragraph of this section, the mass unilateral edits were in 2023, and they were not mine. I don't know how you missed that. Fred Zepelin ( talk) 16:22, 2 June 2024 (UTC) reply

First off, Roll Tide. But why block me and not the other guy? Because I'm an IP editor? You don't agree that ballpark is better? He was the first one to change to home field for every article. I'm trying to help. No one uses that phrase. Ballpark has been the standard for years. 76.167.122.195 ( talk) 01:13, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
Because I found you in the middle of a series of reverts and I asked you to stop. Roll Tide. Drmies ( talk) 19:46, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
See my support and justification from another user in my unblock request. You acted unfairly towards me, blocking me immediately and unjustly, and refused discussion with other users, as did FZ. I wouldn't be surprised if you were friends with the other user. If this is how you treat IP editors, that's a shame, I was just trying to help. 76.167.122.195 ( talk) 20:11, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
I have no relationship with the other editor, none at all. You were making a ton of reverts, I asked you to stop, you didn't. Drmies ( talk) 16:47, 2 June 2024 (UTC) reply
I apologize for making that claim, that was actually not fair of me to say looking back. 76.167.122.195 ( talk) 04:57, 3 June 2024 (UTC) reply

Request reason:

A user changed every MLB stadium article to be describe as "home fields" instead of "ballparks" I changed his mass edits back to the consensus at the time. Users in the Truist Park and Dodger Stadium articles challenged him, and the user did not revert their challenges back to his opinion on the matter. Maybe because they are not IP editors. I was just trying to help, not vandalize. If what I was doing was wrong, I won't do it. Thank you. 76.167.122.195 ( talk) 01:16, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply

  • I echo what the IP editor is stating. FZ made a bold mass change. These changes were challenged and discussed here and here. There was no support for the changes. The IP editor was simply rolling back the edits. FZ knew there was an ongoing discussion, had been warned about edit warring [1], and continued reverting on this topic. [2]. Instead of discussing the changes or finding consensus FZ came here an accused the IP editor of doing exactly what FZ was doing for two days on this topic. Nemov ( talk) 12:48, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
Thank you and the other user in the Baseball wikiproject for your support. I believe Drmies and FZ acted inappropriately and immaturely. I am an IP editor who enjoys acting as a WikiGnome, I fix grammar and wording for fun. It's sad others acted like that, especially blocking me so fast, and manipulating the situation and other users by accusing me of doing something I was trying to fix. 76.167.122.195 ( talk) 20:13, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
This is not accurate. The IP editor claimed, while rapidly making mass reversions, that I was "the first person to rapidly edit every Major League Baseball stadium article to home field without reaching a consensus in talk." Not true. I was undoing the actual first mass reversion: these edits, done over a span of 2 days, changing the leads of every single MLB stadium to their preferred wording, unilaterally, without a discussion. I undid those and now this IP is pushing a false claim about me. There is still a discussion ongoing about that wording, but the stable version, for years, of those articles was the one BEFORE those edits I just pointed out. I will revert those once again until the discussion is complete. Fred Zepelin ( talk) 15:47, 2 June 2024 (UTC) reply
