You are welcome to continue editing without logging in, but many editors recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits, such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (184.90.204.236) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{ helpme}} before the question on this page.

Information icon Hello, I'm JohnFromPinckney. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Passamaquoddy have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a " soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. It seems you are interested primarily in adding mentions of one book to several articles (one of which mentioned above), be it as reference citation or "further reading" entry. This is inappropriate for Wikipedia, as we're trying to build an encyclopedia based on reliable sources, not promote individuals' self-published books. —  JohnFromPinckney ( talk / edits) 20:43, 3 January 2022 (UTC) reply

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Passamaquoddy Bay, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. One of the keys here is the phrase reliable source. Your book is self-published; I can't find it even listed via a web search. See WP:QUESTIONABLE for some further details.

Also, you've included an incomplete citation, apparently to cover the entire lead paragraph's claims. Among other things, the lead shouldn't need citations at all, per MOS:LEADCITE. If you see the claims you're trying to cite references for down in the article, please go ahead and add them there, but: please make it a complete (i.e., usable) citation, and make it to a reliable source. —  JohnFromPinckney ( talk / edits) 18:17, 4 January 2022 (UTC) reply
