The Boca West Community Charitable Foundation identifies and funds projects to assist children and their families at risk in the Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County areas. Formed in 2010 as a way for the members of the Boca West County Club to give back to the Boca Raton community, the foundation funds 25 different programs as of March 2018 including a program with Boca Raton Regional Hospital where every infant leaves with a crib and diapers. Other beneficiaries include The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, the Boca Raton Police Athletic League and Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education (SCOPE). Howard Boilen, the foundations's Vice Chairman, is one of it's 200 volunteers. Working together they were able to give $1.4 million in assistance to the community for FY 2017/2018 in addition to the more than 1,000 youths who participate in their summer programs. ^[1] Howard's first task at the foundation was as the Judge for Boca West's Annual Sand Castle Fundraiser in 2013. He proclaimed each participant "A Boca Winner."

The flaggers and fan dancers almost disappeared as AIDS took it's toll on the community, but by 1988 a few masters of these arts ensured they passed their tradition onto new members of the community. Adam Wojtowicz (flags) and Jeffrey Reichlin (fans) were two such performance artists in the New York area first seen at The Saint at Large. Three performed for Heritage of Pride in 1990, four in 1991. In 1996 thirty fan dancers and flaggers from the Northeast where ready to take rotations on stage at the annual Pride Dance on the Pier. San Francisco, where this art form began, was still recovering from its loses. Those who had not died, placed their toys away out of signigicant grief.
