Scalpel is a small, crab-like robot who turns into a microscope and speaks in an east European German accent. He is a medic and scientist equipped with tools he is seen using to torture Sam. The other Decepticons call him "the Doctor". [1] The packaging of his Scout-Class figure details he is skilled in dissecting and rebuilding almost any living organism - organic or technological. [2]

Movie plot

Scalpel appears with Ravage, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Rampage and Scrapmetal when they retrieve Megatron's body. He helps in repairing and reanimating Megatron with the use of an Allspark fragment and parts from Scrapmetal, whose death he orders to provide the parts he needs to finish the repairs. He later is used to torture Sam Witwicky when Sam is rescued. However, while the novel and comic books show that he is destroyed by Prime, the movie leaves his fate unclear, as he suddenly disappears after Prime intrudes and begins battling Starscream and Megatron.

Video Games

Scalpel was mentioned in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Decepticons Version, when Soundwave says he and the player will revive Megatron.
