Hello. I am currently a resident of
Lancashire,
U.K. I moved back here after living in
Yamanashi,
Japan where I was a teacher in the town of
Showa, teaching
English Language and
culture, to adults and children from the age of 7. I was an
Art teacher and tutor until I left the profession (I still tutor), currently I'm in the much less stressful occupation of personal assistant within the field of carework. I originate from
Lincolnshire,
England in the
UK. I am a traveller at heart and I don't intend that to be the last time I work abroad.
My philosophy on life and on wikipedia is 'If you've got it, use it, if you ain't got it then go get it!'
If you want to know more about me personally then go to read my site (mostly a blog) at
http://www.luvlymish.com. I rarely look at my talk page because I'm quite a low activity user of wikipedia so if you want to get in touch with me it's probably best you do so via my website...I may pay more attention to my talk page if I become a more regular Wikipedian.
Feel free to contact me though I may lag in responding.
I first came across Wikipedia in
January 2003 when I was attempting to write my dissertation. I have been a frequent user ever since.
I made a few anonymous edits in
August 2003,after I got the results from my dissertation! Then decided I could contribute, particular to articles pertaining to Japan in
March 2006.
Wikipedian Interests
My particular interests in Wikipedia are on subjects pertaining to
Paganism,
Art,
Crafts,
Japan,
France and
South America. I am a
Wiccan and I have worked and lived in those countries as well as maintained an active interest in them.
Below I include the interests within which I've made particular contributions to articles and/or created articles.
I lived in
Japan for about two years and have had an academic interest in this country for some time so I have added information to various articles pertaining to
Japan and
Japanese Culture. Articles I have added anything significant to:
Chanpuru,
Hiyoku,
Kimono,
kimono-hiyoku-layering
Not surprisingly as I lived there. I added a few things about local temples and made edits and additions where necessary. Articles I have added anything significant to:
Kuonji,
Takeda Shingen ,
Showa,
Yamanashi Prefecture
Given that I have been helped by
Wikipedia numerous time, I intend to keep contributing as long as I feel I have something useful to say. I intend to keep up my contributions to
Arts pages and those relevant to
Japan. I also intend to add things within pages concerning
France and
Ecuador. Ideally given my current study of the relevant languages I would like to be able to help translating pages in
Japanese,
French and
Spanish. As a
pagan I would like to be able to say could add stuff pertinent within that field but there are people far better qualified than I to do that so it's unlikely.
