Jordan Christopher Santiago (born April 3, 1991) is a professional football player who currently plays for Cardiff City FC in the Football League Championship side as a goalkeeper.

Early life

Santiago was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and began playing organized football at the age of 5 first as a player then as a goalkeeper. He also played hockey, baseball, basketball and golf growing up in Calgary. He attended Bishop Carroll High School before his move to Cardiff, Wales at the age of 17. He started his club football career with Calgary Chinooks at the age of 12 then moved to the Calgary Blizzards at the age of 14. It was on a trip to England in 2006 with the Calgary Blizzards for the Arsenal International Soccer Festival that he was scouted by Reading FC and given a trial.

Professional career

After spending 7 weeks at Reading in Sept. to Oct. 2007 he travelled to Cardiff City FC for a trial. After 7 weeks at Cardiff City FC he was offered a two year youth apprenticeship contract for 2008 - 2010. After a successful youth apprenticeship he was offered a professional contract by Cardiff City FC on July 1, 2010 and renewed for a further 12 months for the 2011-12 year.
