In 2003, after the commercial success of Freddy vs. Jason, Clive Barker told Carpenter of a crossover he had wanted to do. It was a crossover of the Hellraiser and Halloween franchises. It was to reveal that Michael was possessed by a cenobite, promptly named Samhain, as a young child. Pinhead's role may have been to capture Michael and take Samhain back with him or kill Michael and Samhain at once. The film was to be written by Barker and directed by Carpenter. Bob Weinstein, not interested in the idea, rejected it. The film is mentioned on the Halloween: 25 Years of Terror dvd. Both Carpenter and Barker have still shown interest in doing the project some time in the near future, with speculation of it happening after the remake of Hellraiser.

They end up in Freddy's world, where Michael realizes he was tricked. Him and Jason team up against Freddy.
