New article name is Julie Chang Schulman
Julie Chang Schulman is a Hip Hop artist, activist and educator from the Seattle, Washington based "supergroup" Alpha Platoon [1]. She is one third of the Northwest Hip Hop group Knox Family, and has shared stages with acts such as Dead Prez, One Be Lo, and Gabriel Teodros.
In 2007 she was featured in Hip Hop Association's Hip Hop and Education Guidebook Volume 1 [2], the first textbook of its kind compiled as a resource for educators seeking to utilize Hip Hop in the classroom. [3]. In 2008, she was nominated for the Martin Luther King County, Washington Executive Award for Excellence in Hip Hop for her work with the national non-profit organization Hip Hop Congress [4].
