News from WP:KC ... (could include news from similar WikiProjects that KC members are also participating in)

Some Wikipedians have formed a project to improve the quality of life here at Wikipedia through Kindness and Recognition of Users. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there. New participants are welcome; please feel free to join!

A few thoughts from our members ... (flexible in length and content, this is the core of the newsletter)

I'm drafting some thoughts to put out in an essay, to be located at or linked from wp:EDITINGCAMPAIGN, about what makes a good editing campaign. There are new campaigns all the time, e.g. Wikipedia:The 50,000 Destubbing Challenge recently, or small ones within small WikiProjects or groups of editors, and I think there are worser and betterer ways of running them. Building in kindness probably matters a lot! And I came across a link to this WikiProject, which seems great, has short essay at Wikipedia:Kindness Campaign/The essential role of recognition in volunteer communities (which I will link to), and has nice barnstars! Thanks y'all for putting this together. Comments/participation about the new essay will be welcomed, too.

Thank you for reading and see you next month! ~~~~ (KC coordinator/s' signature goes here)
