The following is a list of characters from Liang Yusheng's wuxia novel Saiwai Qixia Zhuan. Some of these characters also appear in Baifa Monü Zhuan and Qijian Xia Tianshan.

Main characters

  • Yang Yuncong (楊雲驄) - A renowned hero from North Xinjiang; a descendant of a loyal Ming official. The eldest disciple of Reverend Huiming. He inherits the Jade Fracturing Sword (斷玉劍).
  • Hamaya (哈瑪雅) - Nicknamed "Flying Red Sash" (飛紅巾), she is the daughter of Tangnu and the tribal leader of South Xinjiang. She is the disciple of the White Haired Demoness.
  • Nalan Minghui (納蘭明慧) - The daughter of Nalan Xiuji. She is a love interest of Yang Yuncong and later becomes his fiancée.

Wudang Sect (武當派)

  • Zhuo Yihang (卓一航) - The former leader of the Wudang Sect.
    • Xin Longzi (辛龍子) - The disciple of Zhuo Yihang.
  • Taoist Huangye (黃葉道人) - The number one martial artist of Wudang, the eldest martial uncle of Zhuo Yihang.
    • He Luhua (何綠華) - The daughter of Taoist Baishi and the disciple of Taoist Huangye.
  • Taoist Hongyun (紅雲道人) - The second martial uncle of Zhuo Yihang.
  • Taoist Baishi (白石道人) - The third martial uncle of Zhuo Yihang.
  • Taoist Qingsuo (青蓑道人) - The fourth martial uncle of Zhuo Yihang.

Mount Heaven Sect (天山派)

  • White Haired Demoness (白髮魔女) - The number one swordswoman of the martial world. Formerly nicknamed "Jade Rakshasa" (玉羅剎). Lover of Zhuo Yihang.
  • Reverend Huiming (晦明禪師) - A reclusive monk residing on Mount Heaven. The martial arts teacher of Yang Yuncong and Chu Zhaonan.
  • Chu Zhaonan (楚昭南) – The second disciple of Reverend Huiming. He inherits the Gliding Dragon Sword (游龍劍) but defects and becomes a servant of Wu Sangui.

Xinjiang Tribes

Kazakh (哈薩克) tribe

  • Yishida (伊士達) - A strong warrior and close friend of Yang Yuncong.
  • Maigaiti (麥蓋提) - A strong warrior and close friend of Yang Yuncong.

Tashan (塔山族) tribe

  • Bala (巴拉) - The tribal chief.
  • A'gai (阿盖) - The number one wrestling expert in South Xinjiang.
  • Deka (德卡)
