Megapro Marketing Inc. is a Canadian company headquartered in Langley, British Columbia that develops, manufactures, and markets hand tools. Founded in November 1994 by Hermann Fruhm the private held company operates in multiple countries and sells its products worldwide.
History
Megapro was founded in 1994 with the incorporation of its parent company (Winsire Enterprises Corporation) by the Austrian immigrant Hermann Fruhm (born XXXX in Gmunden, Austria). Starting with one simple idea, Hermann Fruhm invented an absolutely new screwdriver, including a retractable bit Cartridge which contains 14 screwdriver tips for an easy and quick change. By involving the design firm Karo in the industrial design of the product, the first valuable drawings were completed in 1990. These drawings were used to create several prototypes, until the final molds led to the assembly of the first Megapro screwdriver. Under the name of the Pik-a-Bit Brand, the screwdrivers of the primary production were sold in North America. Due to its highly practical, recognizable features as well as its easy handling it soon gained market acceptance.
Products
Today, there are over 20 variations of the MEGAPRO® screwdriver from the original to ratcheting and from tamperproof drivers to those specifically designed for the HVAC or Automotive trades. The patented retractable bit cartridge makes it easy to find, change & store bits. Up to 14 of the most popular screwdriver tips can be stored in the cartridge.
