Hello! Here's a little bit about me:

Birthplace: Charlotte

Primary/Secondary Education: Gaston County Schools

Colleges:

Favorite Sports Teams:

Least Favorite Sports Teams:

  • Dallas Cowboys, National Football League (though the New England Patriots run a close second)
  • Atlanta Braves, Major League Baseball (though the New York Yankees run a close second)
  • Los Angeles Lakers, National Basketball Association (there's not even a distant second)
  • And oddly enough, I don't have a least favorite National Hockey League team. The closest I come there is the Dallas Stars, and that's because they left Minneapolis/St. Paul bereft of an NHL team for many years.

Other interesting things about me:

  • I think the Emmy Award is the coolest of the four major entertainment awards given in the United States.
  • I love disaster movies, especially The Towering Inferno and A Fire in the Sky. In fact, I wrote the article for A Fire in the Sky
  • I have been a contestant on Jeopardy!. In Episode #5750 (taped July 28, 2009, aired September 18, 2009), I came in second place to defending champion Gary Bechtold and won $2,000. Answer to the Final Jeopardy! question - Who was Edward Lear?
  • I was also a contestant on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. On an episode recorded November 2, 2011 and broadcast on March 2, 2012, I won $5,750. I was stumped by a question about who owned Dollywood before Dolly Parton owned it. The correct answer was Art Modell.
  • I participated in National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, seven straight years (2004-10). Which means I have seven very bad novels to my credit (or discredit).
  • I also wrote the Wikipedia article on Dawson v. Delaware.
