Adminship is "no big deal" (though it's notWP:NOBIGDEAL) — being an admin on the English Wikipedia takes a toll on your contributions, your mental health and how you view Wikipedia in general.
Put simply:
The buttons are "no big deal", but the added stress and drama is.
You will regret becoming an admin some days — "just editing" was easier.
You will make the same number of mistakes — it's just they'll now be pointed out to you a lot more harshly.
Where's the "big deal" in all of that?
All that being said, when I say no big deal, what I really mean is supporting an editor "brave" enough to give it a go is no big deal to me.
