Cliff Top High School is a show starring a 10 year old child prodigy named Benedict Maxwell Gennadievich Tartakovsky III who graduates 5th grade from Littlewood Elementary School. His parents are notified by the Cerulean City that instead of going into middle school, he is skipped to attend Cliff Top High School, a public charter high school located on top of a tall cliff outlooking the shore. He gains instant popularity at school for being the youngest and smartest student in school, though he makes best friends with Mariette Julia McWhite and Tatsumi Miyamoto who are freshman and are also intellectually gifted, but not as smart as Benedict.

• Benedict "Ben" Maxwell Gennadievich Tartakovsky III: (born March 20, 2007) He is the 10 year old protagonist of Russian, German, and Ashkenazi Jewish decent. He is a child prodigy with an intelligence quotient of 226. He is a freshman at Cliff Top High School and is known as the smartest and youngest student at school. He wears dark blue glasses, a necktie with a tie clip, a long-sleeved stripped dress shirt, cufflinkss, a black waistcoat, evening gloves, suspender belts, dress pants, and dress boots. He is modeled after the main character of Dexter's Laboratory and shares similar hair-doo, accent, and personality and is partially named after the show's creator, Genndy Tartakovsky. He is ambidextrous.

He is multilingual and is able to speak 31 languages with fluency: English, Russian, German, Hebrew, Yiddish, Arabic, Latin, Greek, French, Spanish, Catalan, Occitan, Basque, Italian, Serbian, Serbo-Croatian, Hungarian, Czech, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Scottish, Welsh, Cornish, Nahuatl, Cherokee, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Esperanto. He also knows how to read braile in multiple language, American Sign Language, and Greek Sign Language. He speaks in a distinct accent and uses a sophisticated way of speech.

He is a highly intellectual person and very etiquettal and wise, but does display childish behaviors typical for his age. He is also very romantic and expresses his thoughts and feelings through his creativity, especially in poetry and song writing. He is also very charismaticand have a sense of humor. He is great at telling very funny jokes.

He is old-fashioned and dislikes modernization. He prefers using slightly outdated technology. He is especially fond of the 1990s. He owns a Motorola MicroTACs, a Macintosh Color Classic, a Commodore 64, and fifth generation video game consoles.

His favorite colors are cerulean, lavender, and cosmic latte. His favorite numbers are multiples of 3. His favorite shapes are the Platonic solids.

His hobbies include doing something creative; such as writing a song or poem, painting, and making video games for his computers on floppy disks. He is also a talented singer making music with his ukulele and synthesizers, watch anime, read manga as well as comic books and coming-of-age novels. He enjoys seeking new knowledge and learning new things by pursuing them on his own,and sharing them on his own. He also enjoys editing Wikipedia and has created an online encyclopedia of his own, named Encyclopaedia Globalis.

He is multitalented. He is able to sing and play multiple instruments; especially the piano, the ukulele, and the synth. He has high engineering skills and is able to build and fix electronics. He is also able to paint and draw very well. He is a decent cook and mainly takes over in making the family supper. He can solve a Rubik's cube in less than a second. He is a good writer which can be shown in his elaborate poems. He is also one of the best chess players, and is very good at video games especially old-school games. He is also skilled at computer programming and knows multiple programming languages.

At school, he gains instant popularity among his peers, though most people treat him as a human encyclopedia due to his high knowledge and intellect. He has made friends throughout the school, but he does have trouble properly socializing with his other schoolmates because of his age. Some are known to be jealous at him, and some would single him out because he's a prepubescent child. Taking a advantage on the popularity, he joins the school's math team, chess club, and the school's boys' baseball team, the Cliff Top Sharks. He later forms a music band with his friends called "E=MC2" with him playing the piano and the vocals.

At home he has a laboratory in the house's attic. The laboratory is composed of an observatory with a telescope, a small electric generator, a wind turbine (on top of the roof), a storage full of electrical components and chemicals, a blackboard, and an extensive computer system. He keeps the attic under lock and key to prevent his sister Patricia from sneaking in because she can potentially ruin his stuff.

His room is composed of a bed, a desktop with a Macintosh Color Classic attached with a printer and external floppy disk drive next to a box full of floppy disks, a paper shredder, a mini library, a shelf with a collection of beanie babies, and a cathode-ray tube television set, along with poster of people who influenced him such as Albert Einstein and Ada Lovelace.

He was later on auditioned to be an actor for the network for a sitcom aimed at high-school aged audiences. When the show becomes popular among the school, he tries to keep his career a sectret, though only his family and two of his best friends know about this.

• Julianna Mary Whyte: (born December 21, 2003) She is a 13 year old of Irish-Scots and Puertorican decent deuteragonist and one of Benedict's best friend and assistant along with Tatsumi. She is a freshman and she is one of the smartest students. She has shoulder length red wavy hair with a bow and a sunflower, red glasses, a bow-tie, a long-sleeved diamond-stripped dress shirt, suspender belts, a jean miniskirt, pink knee-high socks, and black steel-toe military boots. She has freckles on the cheekbones of her face. She is bisexual.

She can speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Scottish, and Irish. She also uses sophisticated speech but in a lisp due to her braces.

She is one of the smartest students in the school. Although she is a genius with an IQ of 163, she is not as smart as Benedict. She is mostly word smart. She is a very polite and kind person who likes to help others in need, but she is also very independent and courageous. Although usually a pacifist, she will fight and use force if necessary to protect herself and her friends. She is also very hard working. She is described as being a nerd.

Her favorite colors are pink, baby blue, and yellow. Her favorite numbers are the Fibonacci numbers. Her favorite shape is the tesseract.

She is musically talented and able to play the piano and the violin, and can sing. She is also a skilled computer programmer in which she uses to help Benedict with his projects, also knowing multiple programming languages. She is also skilled in martial arts. She is also physically flexible and does practice yoga daily at home.

She has romantic feelings for Tatsumi, but there are platonic friends.

• Tatsumi Miyamoto: (born August 8, 2003) He is a 14 year old Japanese-American deuteragonist and one of Benedict's best friends and assistants along with Mariette. He is a freshman and also one of the smartest students. He has short black hair, wears a plain short-sleeved dress shirt, a necktie with a tie clip, suspender belts, dress pants, and Converse sneakers.

He speaks English, French, Japanese, and Korean.

Like Mariette he is one of the smartest students in the school but he not as smart as Benedict, with an IQ of 163. He is mostly math smart.
