This is a Wikipediauser page. This is not an encyclopedia article or the talk page for an encyclopedia article. If you find this page on any site other than Wikipedia, you are viewing a

His user name is derived from his love of
penguins, particularly the
rockhopperspecies. The "10r" part of his name derives from his being a self-professed
choirnerd; therefore, the name is pronounced "rockhopper
tenor".
He was born in
Massachusetts and lived there from
1969 to
1981 and from
1990 to
1997. He has also lived in
Florida (1981 to 1990) and
Michigan (1997 to
1998). He has lived in Texas since 1998.
Though an
American, he feels that
American English spelling is a hurdle to global
communication and advocates the adoption of a worldwide standard for
English spelling, especially on the
Internet. This is why in articles he originates, he uses spelling that would be associated with
Commonwealth English.
He discovered Wikipedia while assisting a patron at the
reference desk and believes it is a valuable reference tool and that librarians need to be actively involved in this project.
