I love all pinnipeds, especially true seals. When I am able to, I enjoy traveling to the Marine Mammal Center, where they rehabilitate seals and sea lions.
I'm very interested in baseball, particularly baseball statistics. My favorite team is the Los Angeles Dodgers. I don't have a favorite player; my favorite player is simply "whoever's hitting right now."
I am very interested in politics, and have been so since 2018, before I was old enough to vote. I have volunteered for numerous campaigns, knocking doors, writing postcards, calling, and texting voters to get them to vote for candidates whom I believe in. In addition to electoral politics, I am very interested in the legislative process, and keep a close watch on bills that are pending in Congress. I frequently watch C-SPAN to get a real-time view on what is happening. My favorite news sources to follow politics are Politico and Punchbowl News, since those give me inside information on what is happening that I wouldn't be able to figure out myself. I try to read sources across the political spectrum. I don't really watch the news much, since it's mostly endless speculation and glosses over most of the important things that are happening.
I largely identify with the Democratic Party on issues. On economic policy, I believe that we should direct our investments to the middle class and that we should tax the rich. I support raising the minimum wage, mostly support Medicare for All, and oppose a Universal Basic Income. Socially, I mostly support abortion rights and strongly support LGBTQ+ rights. On criminal justice policy, I believe that we need an evidence-based approach to do whatever ruins the fewest lives possible. Therefore, I support policies where there is evidence that they work, and oppose those where there isn't. For example, I oppose capital punishment and ending cash bail, but support providing resources to social workers instead of police when possible. The most important issue to me is climate change, and I support any and all action that we can take on it.
I believe that Joe Biden is the best President since at least LBJ, and his impressive record speaks for itself. The Inflation Reduction Act is a massive piece of legislation that will be crucial in the fight against climate change, and his major wins economically ( Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and CHIPS Act) and socially ( Respect for Marriage Act and more), will be felt for years to come. Additionally, he has garnered some crucial short-term successes as well.
