Hey Beano, good to hear from you. I'm pretty much a semi-editor now. I check Wikipedia on a regular basis, but mostly as a reader. I'll make the occasional correction but I haven't done any real maintenance work in a while. I've thought about coming back to do it, like process AfDs and such, perhaps I'll do it when I have more time... --

The Smoki People organization was started in 1921 when there were only 5000 residents in the town of Prescott Arizona.
Over 500 of those residents - men and women alike were members.
If you go to the reference you'll get lots more information about the Smoki People and the Smoki Museum they started.

Hi
I wrote an entry on Eddie Borysewicz and you tagged it for speedy removal because, if I understand you right, the references link back to the original page. Maybe I've done something wrong. When I wrote it, the links went to lots of different sources. If you can help, I'll happily put it right. Thanks for your interest.

Please consider a little before tagging articles for speedy. Your tagging of this article ia extremely innapropriate. Lack of citations is not grounds for speedy deletion. In any case the article is littered with cites, the author had just not got round to putting in the ref template so they were visible. Also CSD:R1 does not apply to the situation where citations are pointing to an innapropriate place (which they are not), only where the page itself is redirecting to an innapropriate place. For someone who is doing so much speedy tagging you ought to make yourself a bit more familiar with the rules before you cause Wikipedia to lose good articles.

I see what you mean about the references not working. I can't explain why because I did what I always do. I'll have a look at the instructions page and see what's wrong. Meanwhile, any guidance would be useful.

"Progressing down the road to adminship"?
Earlier today, I made a post about what adminship is like, and I would encourage you to read it. Seriously, adminship is not all it's cracked up to be. If you are involving yourself in areas of this project simply to make yourself more attractive at a future RFA, you will be be disappointed if and when you get the tools. In addition to this, there is a very pervasive atmosphere of so-called "career Wikipedians", who are only here to "move up the ladder", not build an encyclopedia. Intentional or not, your requests make it seem like you are one of these people. Most users at RFA will frown on users who actively try to become admins.
The best way to become an admin is to just be yourself and do what you enjoy doing. Sooner or later, if you have a need for the tools, someone will ask you if you want to run.

Hello Beano, as you may have noticed I
removed the fake “new message” bar from your userpage. Contrary to what you
may think, I did in fact purposefully remove it. The reason I removed it is because it is disruptive, and in no way serves as something that betters the encyclopedia. As you will notice
here,
WP:USERPAGE allows for me to remove any content I deem disruptive, and
here it clearly states that Simulated MediaWiki interfaces (such as the “new message” bar) should be avoided. In hopes of avoiding a edit war, I politely ask you to remove the spoof from your userpage. Thanks,

You've been doing fine so far... I would suggest that you look over the current and past candidates for
RFAs and see what people are looking for in
successful RFAs (conversely, you can see what people consider to be negative in
unsuccessful ones). I'm pretty sure specific standards have changed somewhat from when I had an RFA, but the general qualities have probably still the same. Looking at more recent RFAs will give you an idea. Also, members often disagree on what are positive qualities for admins. If you have time, you could also check out (and possibly contribute to) the
current RFA discussion. Best of luck! --

I recently receved notice that my article "Go meat" may be deleted
so I have an account on wikipedia and Im starting to learn how to write a page for wikipedia. One day I heard some people talking about this go meat thing and disided to look it up on wikipedia as soon as I had time. So when I arived home and searched .nothing came up, so disapointed I searched google for some answers, then I disided to take some of the quick info that I had learned and add it to wikipedia and add a link to the hillshire farm article. so that if others wanted to know more they could visite that article. I disagree that this article should be deleted but could you tell me your thoughts on how it could be changed so that it could stay. Also if you have any Ideas for the article could you send them as well or add them yourself to the article. please help.

Hello beano, it is me that not very long ago had a whole conversation with you about George Michael and the mention of his partly Jewish mum in his article.
I did what i agreed with you that i will only source that with a third side referance, and so i did(used the referance from the LA times you confirmed me). Even though, the things i edit get deleted all the time, and the users who do so would not even talk to me or at least explain me why, so i decided to aproach you, and would be happy if you came back to me with it. You wanted to know if there were any articles in particular that could use some help in relation to StarCraft, so here's some ideas. Most of the game articles, as you can already see are already reasonably high quality.
StarCraft II could use some expansion in some areas, the development section in particular is rather lacking and the whole thing needs a thorough copyedit. However, bits like
StarCraft Adventures and
StarCraft: The Board Game are in desperate need of someone who knows something about them and can provide sources for them. StarCraft Adventures has been a stub for two years. If you know anything about them, working on those articles would be great. There's also
List of locations in the StarCraft series, which needs a major cleanup to meet notability (through development and reception information), referencing and MoS standards, if you fancy something on the fiction. In addition, there's
StarCraft professional competition, which could again use the attention of someone who knows something about it. If you want something on the technical side of things,
MPQ could probably use a hand. Take your pick from the lot, there's plenty to go around. Enjoy! --

Hi Beano,
I just spent a couple of hours to edit Wiki, based on reasearch and a book I read. None of the stuff I put in was 'marketing' of any sort - it simply put some links in to for example Project Management Office, 'see also' section to Project stakeholders and there I edited the article that only states ONE way of looking at stakeholders. The edit I put in referred to a professor from Harvard Business School and a book I read (about project stakeholders). I have ZERO affiliation with these, other than understanding that stakeholders can be categorized in a more focused way and with this focus one can get much better project success rates. Isn't this what Wiki is for?
Let me know how I can share this with the Wiki community or what exactly was the reason for deleting my change?
Cheers —Preceding

Thanks Beano for the the quick reply. Yes, as I was editing the page, at one point I did put an email id on the page (then I removed it, so the latest version didn't have it). Under the 'references' section the way it is constructed, one of the fields is 'Author contact' and I filled it out with the author's email (I got that from a webpage a while ago - he has nothing to do with me...). But then I removed it because I figured he may not want emails coming to him from Wiki...
So how do I put my changes back simply (without having to spend another 2 hours)? HELP!!!
