Old Vandalism (Possible to Rev-Del?)
Is it possible that these edits (maybe more for the second IP I'll list) can be rev-deleted? They're at least six years old, both IPs are no longer active on Wikipedia, but their edits remain.
1.
107.182.176.206 kept harassing me in 2015 when I reverted some transphobic edits of theirs. Their harassment was rev-deleted already, but not
This One.
2. Several blatantly hostile edits from
99.253.124.79:
Probably a few more need to be looked at. I should have brought this up years ago, I know. But I think I should get this out of the way.

Perugia Vandal New Target
The Perugia vandal found a new target:
Frances McDormand. See their edits

Clearly another edit from the Perugia vandal. I reported them already to AIV (since they've been trolling so long there's no point to dissuade them), but someone thought it was too soon. Is it too soon?

Revision deletion
Hello, Malcolmxl5,
I've been seeing you revision delete all day now (at least it's daytime where I live). Any chance this IP vandal's range could be blocked? It seems like they've been causing a lot of damage you've kindly cleaned up. LizRead!Talk! 01:19, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
Hi
Liz, an edit filter is going disallow their edits. They have been circumventing existing filters by altering offensive (Hindi) words with diacritics but some tweaks will sort that out. In the meantime, I’m chasing this vandal down a rabbit hole, they were more prolific than I realised! --
Malcolmxl5 (
talk) 01:32, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
I believe an editor asked me to do some revision deletions because of edits by this same user and when I used Google Translate, it couldn't provide a translation. But I trusted the editor who brought the query to me so I obliged. I'm glad there are filters that might prevent this from happening in the future. LizRead!Talk! 02:29, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
The partial block was to stop harassment of User:Shadow4dark at their talk page. The IP disruption looks unrelated and can be handled in the normal way, i.e. warnings and reporting (but they seem to have stopped anyway). --

"I'll take a look over the next few days" doesn't mean that Malcolmxl5 is going to "watch" your article. It means that he needs to research why the page has been deleted in the past and then look at your article to see if it has any of the same problems or has avoided them. Only then can he make a decision about whether to allow you to move the article out of Draftspace into the encyclopedia.
Beyond My Ken (

John Butler of Kilcash
Dear Malcolmxl5. On 10 Jun 2010 you placed a notability tag on the article
John Butler of Kilcash. The subject is not a widely known person and the article had only 60 words at the time. It now counts 686 words and has 31 citations from 17 sources. Could you please have another look and possibly remove the tag if you think it that notability has been established? Or take some other action that you think suitable. I see you are an administrator and extremely experienced wikipedian. With many thanks,

Technical news
IP addresses of unregistered users are to
be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how
IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed
at the talk page.

Sorry I should have been clearer in my earlier comments
here, but I was at least in part trying to avoid having yet another time-sink discussion regarding the application of existing policy to a novel situation; I'm sure your well aware how easy it is to make mountains out of molehills around here. So to be clear, I have no intention of returning to editing under that IP, and having reviewed the relevant policy, I'm fine with the block.
Like I said, it's not a big deal. I'm going to be increasingly busy over the next few months anyway, and on the off chance something requires my attention it won't affect my ability to edit. I'll admit I liked the convenience of having my edit history in one place for the first time in a while but that's a luxury not a necessity and with truly static IPs increasingly rare, one that the vast majority of contributors get along just fine without. Noted, that one was a bit busy. On the question of rangeblocks, the broadest IPv4 rangeblock we can technically make is /16. By my count, he has popped up in 30+ different /16 ranges and there’s no way to block them all in one go. We can look at /16 but that covers 65,500 addresses and will likely have collateral. Generally, I’ll look for narrower ranges, which are used often, where they are active and with few other users in the history. --

Please take a look at article Purvanchal Expressway
Hi admin, can you please have a look at article “Purvanchal Expressway”, an unexplained, repetitive sourced info removal is being done, I urged the user to take that to talk page, it has been more than three reverts, I also placed a three revert warning on his talk page, and again urged him to solve the issue by talk page discussion. It’s been so many times, he is continuing to remove the referenced data. Every now and then he is responding by removing the sourced info, without any explanation or discussion. I even asked him to refrain from making numerous reverts and engaging in edit war, wait for a consensus to be reached on talk page, even an experienced user 25Cents asked him for the same and pinged him on talk page, he reverted his edits too. I assume some kind of sockpuppetry. Can you please see into this? Much thanks in advance.

Malcomxl5 - I ask for reconsideration to unprotect the page Robert E. Clark II page. I also sent this same request to Ymblanter. To allow it to remain as is seems to contradict the reason for protecting - to prevent vandalism, which seems exactly what Jonboi199 is doing. The previous section (below, and what they removed)) seems to accurately, with a neutral tone, and publicly available references, explain what transpired - Clark was President for ~ 6yrs; members of the faculty published a no confidence resolution two months before the College became part of Delaware State University that was forwarded to the Board of Trustees for action; the Board took action - dismissed the resolution; and then subsequently the Board of Trustees bestowed upon Clark President Emeritus for reasons stated. Their replacement (which seems to be a repeated "cut & paste" without justification or cause), which remains on the site, was protected with a section that seems biased, incomplete, and violates Wikipedia's POV policy. Thank you for your consideration and time.

Welcome to the one hundred and sixty first
WikiProject Yorkshire monthly newsletter.
Thanks to the contributions of our many members and supporters,
WP:YORKS has become a leading local British WikiProject in terms of the total number of articles supported (up from 17,119 last month to 17,227 on 5 September 2021). In the area of GAs
WP:YORKS at 205 is ahead of
WP:GM who have 90.
WP:YORKS also has the lead in FAs at 85 while
WP:GM has 69 out of a total number of 4,683 articles.
Currently we have sixty seven Yorkshire featured articles:
The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.
Paralympic Games
This month with the
Paralympics Games in progress it would be good to take a look at some of the articles related to Yokshire competitors. Many are just a couple of line stubs and could do with improving to give some background to these athletes. Many are in need of photographs and there may be some free ones available to help illustrate articles. This set of articles that will get a high number of hits as people search for details of the competitors and could do with work to get them in to shape.
We now have more Yorkshire medals from these games to celebrate.
WikiProject Yorkshire Collaboration of the Month Project
The September 2021 articles selected below are an editor choice as there were no nominations on the project talk page. I have gone for a couple of current Paralympics this month though could not find any B-class so have gone for a C-class.
The project is subscribed to a
clean-up listing which lists articles tagged with various clean-up tags that need attention. The listing is refreshed by a bot on a regular basis.
Monitoring is essential Use the
watchlist to keep an eye on changes to the project's articles so that vandalism and spamming can be removed as quickly as possible.
Moves Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. Otherwise the archives, to-do lists, assessment comments and GA reviews get lost and the image may be deleted as it has an incorrect FUR. Partial rangeblock extension
Howdy Malcolm, just wanted to give you a heads up I added a page,
Shibani Dandekar, to your rangeblock of
117.237.192.0/18. Just wanted to make sure you're aware. -- LuK3(Talk) 13:44, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
That’s great,
LuK3. I’m not sure how effective the partial block will be but there are also edit filters, protections and other blocks in play so hopefully it’ll help to curtail this LTA's activity a bit. --
Malcolmxl5 (
talk) 15:56, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
The miscreat simply moved on to other pages. Primefac has extended the block settings to the article namespace until March, which ought take care of that for now. Meanwhile, I've put a six-month block on
Special:Contributions/117.254.140.0/22, another range that they use and which they used today. --

Category blanking Jakarta IP
Hello. This has been going on all morning. I noticed your range block of
182.0.137.0/24 (
talk·contribs).
Recently
182.0.171.52 (
talk·contribs) was blocked by
User:LuK3. Same cat blanking, same geolocation. Is there anything that can be done with this range?
(
talk page stalker) I blocked
182.0.128.0/18 for 3 months. It looks like that range includes both Malcolm's /24 block in addition to my block of 182.0.171.52. It looks like the /18 range has been blocked previously so hopefully this is will squash some of the page blanking.

Malcolmxl5 (

Yes, and looking at the
/16 range, I see they’ve been meddling in Category, Wikipedia and Help space. I’ve partially blocked the range from these spaces for three months. The range has been blocked previously in January for three months. --
Malcolmxl5 (
talk) 13:25, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Hi and thanks for blocking
this IP range. I do not know if edits to other namespaces were also considered because the block is only partial. Would you know if the persons who are using that IP range and
this IP range are related to each other? Just like what other editors have already pointed out on your talk page, disruptive edits have been made to some articles that are related to Indonesia, such as
this and
this. Also, several other edits to articles that are related to television have been reverted by other editors. LSGH (
talk) (
contributions) 06:23, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
Hi
LSGH. We were only concerned about a person(s) geolocating to Jakarta who was blanking Category pages (and I noticed some blanking of Wikipedia and Help pages too). The 36.81.0.0/16 appears to be a different ISP, geolocates to a different city (Yogyakarta) and has no edits to Category pages for some years (or any recent edits to Wikipedia or any to Help pages) so I am doubtful that they are related. --
Malcolmxl5 (
talk) 17:48, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
Eerily though,
this edit and
this edit have very similar edit summaries. Maybe the same person is editing from both locations? LSGH (
talk) (
contributions) 10:00, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
Very similar. A month apart, could have travelled between cities. No Category edit though. :) --

Hello, you know the IP user 78.86.6.127 who is blocked for 31 hours. Could you please lift the block to either 2 weeks or 3 months? The edits he made were so bad that he deserves longer. Thanks.
KnowledgeMastermind (
talk) 15:13, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
Hi
KnowledgeMastermind, I think you mean
78.86.0.127. We don’t ordinarily block IPs for any substantial length of time unless the IP address is demonstrably stable; with this one we can’t tell. Plus it is an IP address owned by Sky broadband who, I believe, use dynamic IP addressing so it could be used by an entirely different person tomorrow. A 31 hour block is sufficient to stop the immediate damage to the encyclopedia, if they return let us know via
WP:AIV or drop me a line. --

Welcome to the one hundred and sixty second
WikiProject Yorkshire monthly newsletter.
Thanks to the contributions of our many members and supporters,
WP:YORKS has become a leading local British WikiProject in terms of the total number of articles supported (up from 17,227 last month to 17,270 on 29 September 2021). In the area of GAs
WP:YORKS at 207 is ahead of
WP:GM who have 90.
WP:YORKS also has the lead in FAs at 85 while
WP:GM has 69 out of a total number of 4,690 articles.
Currently we have sixty eight Yorkshire featured articles:
The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.
WikiProject Yorkshire Collaboration of the Month Project
The October 2021 articles selected below are an editor choice as there were no nominations on the project talk page.
You will also have to check that the Commons link is set correctly.
Thanks

I don’t really understand what you’re asking but I see another editor has restored an earlier version of the page so hopefully that will have resolved any issues. In future, it would be best to raise these things on
Talk:I-League 2nd Division. Specific changes changes to text can also be requested there using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. --

Deletion of Imagen Ltd
Hello @Malcolmxl5
I am keen to start a new page called 'Imagen Ltd' following the guidelines and using Special:Mypage/Imagen Ltd to create it so I can ask others to help and make it compliant.
When I've gone to do so, a message appears asking me to reach out to the person who deleted the page - am I allowed to create a new page?
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, S

Hello
Sallen888.sa. I deleted the page following a
discussion. A new page can be created but there are a couple of steps to follow. Firstly, you have a
conflict of interest so you should put the new page through the
Articles for Creation (AfC) process where it will be reviewed before being moved to article space. Secondly, the company should meet the
Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) guideline (
WP:NCORP); that is, it should have been the subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. I suggest you start by identifying your three best sources. If you get stuck, come to the Teahouse where experienced editors can help you. --
