Victor Equality Wang is a Chinese-American flute musician. He currently is working at the University of Rochester and will attend Yale University in the fall of 2010. He has achieved success and acclaim in both academics and music.

Early Life

Wang was born on June 3, 1993 in Webster, New York to Yaorong Wang and Minhong Fu. He attended the schools in the Webster school district with his brother, Brian Wang. He skipped the fifth grade and has excelled at academics since then. In high school, Wang was on both the science and math teams and competed at the state level on numerous occasions, winning copious amounts of awards. He graduated as the salutatorian of his class in 2010.

Wang started to play piano in 2000, but did not enjoy it and eventually switched to the flute in 2001. During his high school years, Wang began the flute choir at his school and was a member of three different school musical ensembles. In his senior year, Wang composed a piece for his flute choir.

His hard work and passion for the flute paid off. In the recent months, Wang was invited to the National High School Honors Orchestra and played with them in California.

Current Life

Victor Wang is currently working under Dr. Ken Marshall, as an intern at the University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics. He is going to attend Yale in the fall, but remains undecided about his major. Wang still intends to pursue music throughout his life.

Personal Life

There has been controversy over the relationship status of Wang. He has reportedly been in a relationship with an unnamed girl since 2007. However, both have denied such allegations.
