Chayal Chengannur Vadackal Kelaparambu Family



This is an ancient family in kerala with the family name-Chayal Chengannur Vadackal Kelaparambu-- Containing 6 branches viz Karikkottu , Maliyil , Varatharapallathu , Kattunilathu , Vathapallil and Kelaparambu. The family history originated from Chengannur-Forefather As Known As Vadackal Mapila or "Thauppan", who belongs to ministry-family working in the service of Chempakasherry King. Later his two sons conitnued their forefather's path, One deployed in Chempakasherry King for his ministry service, other deployed for ministry-service of Kayamkulam King. Their family name..Nilackal or Chempakasherry still exists in Kattanam, Pallickal sides. Traces have been found that we belongs to warrior group commonly known as Kshatryias before convertion into christianity by St.Thomas. Studies showed the family originated from Malabar side in an area now known as Sulthan Bethary in Waynad district, before the reing of Tipu Sultan. The persecution of early christianity cause them to flee and get settled in chengannur side in Kerala. Other family branches name includes Mupparuthil, Kunnel, Mundakathil,Madackal, Thopichira, Vadackal, Kazhukaparambu..etc. The current family members are estimated more 2000 plus and spread in different parts of India and world too.
