Allis-Chalmers Model U ... The Model U was a midsize tractor produced by Allis-Chalmers between 1929-1952. [1] Originally sold as the United Model U, following the end of production of Henry Ford's Fordson_tractor line, at the request of Fordson dealers for Allis-Chalmers to produce a tractor for them to sell. Beginning in 1932, the United Model U became the Allis-Chalmers Model U and carried this name through to the end. From 1929 till 1932 it was equipped with a Continental engine. In 1932 it got a Waukesha engine and rubber tires.
