JOHN STURMAN BSc(Hons) MSc CSci MIMarEST CMarSci

John is a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology and a Chartered Marine Scientist who has 20 years experience working in offshore renewable energy, environmental consultancy and resource management. He has undertaken high profile renewable energy work for national and regional governments including Hong Kong SAR and the Government of Saudi Arabia as well as leading companies in the renewable energy sector. He is currently Senior Commercial Manager for WElink Energy.

He has lectured on offshore renewable energy, business opportunities and resource availability and was the main presenter at the Energy and Environment Conference 2009.

His particular expertise covers marine renewable energy resource assessment, due diligence, project management and renewable energy policy and strategy.

John presently represents industry and scientific interests for the Scottish Renewables Marine Energy Group. He is a member of the US Offshore Wind Technology Committee and the appointed Offshore Renewables expert advisor to the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.
