Tom Naumann with Primal Fear at Rockharz festival (2018)

Tom Naumann (* October 20, 1965 in Esslingen, near Stuttgart) is a German heavy metal guitarist, songwriter and live musician. He has also been a guitar teacher since 2006. [1] Naumann plays lead guitar and writes songs with bands Sinner and Primal Fear and performance as a live musician at the “Rock Meets Classic” tour.

Biography

After joining Sinner for the band’s multi-week Dangerous Charm tour in January 1988 as the second live guitarist, Naumann appeared on Mat Sinner's solo album 'Back to the Bullet' in 1990. It became Naumann's first of 13 studio albums with Sinner to date.

In 1997, Naumann and Mat Sinner supported a live tribute show of their friend Gamma Ray singer Ralf Scheepers, who was preparing for a possible rehearsal with Judas Priest for Rob Halford's successor.[5] As a result, they began to write new songs together and subsequently founded the power metal band Primal Fear. Naumann composed and performed all guitars on Primal Fear’s self-titled debut album. Up to the latest release in 2020 (‘Metal Commando’) Naumann left and joined the band on two occasions. Since 2016 he is again a permanent member. In total he contributed to seven of all 13 studio recordings by the band.
