Off-Diagonal Long-Range Order (ODLRO) is a concept used to describe macroscopic quantum coherent systems such as superfluids and superconductors. First introduce by Oliver Penrose in 1951 [1], it emphasises that the observed long-range order in such systems is due to off-diagonal elements of the density matrix.
