Hello Saganaki; fancy seeing you on this page as well. Anyway, just to repeat the response I posted on the talk page for Joyous!, I added the page with the initial copy. Would appreciate some actual clarification as to why the article is considered objectionable.
Could you please explain why you speedy deleted the page on the Otago University Highland and Gaelic Society. From what I could make out it is because you consider the Society not notable? If this is indeed the case I disagree strongly. The Society is indeed notable.
Its campaigns have appeared regularly in national media in New Zealand and I would have though that would be enough notability in itself. Some of its aims have even seen fruition in influencing University management in course creation. They are also notable in being one of the few groups teaching the otherwise dying Gaelic language in New Zealand. If this does not meet the notability criteria I'm not really sure what you're looking for.
Further, the original members of the Society have recently left, and this history risks being lost forever. Wikipedia will be a richer and more useful resource with its inclusion. I hope you review your decision.
Thank you for your time. Tartanperil 10:55, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Several users have expressed concern over my block nomination of several college a cappella groups. I would like to apologize for causing a medium-sized ruckus on the AFD page and thereby wasting the time of several excellent contributors. I see now that this was an ill choice for a block nomination. I'll be relisting most of the articles individually as soon as I can double check the list. Again, please accept my apologies. savidan (talk) (e@) 17:07, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello,
What follows are the thoughts, expressed in their own words, and in the 'protest signs', of the obscure, very small, but very vocal 'activist group' known as "Protest Warrior".
"What's becoming clear is how the religion of Islam is addicted to war and mayhem. Not a radical minority, not a rogue sect, but its very essence is about submission and sacrifice and proving your worth by worshipping death in this life to gain a paradise of orgies and drunkenness. Their entire history is of warfare, and any accomplishments of their so-called Golden Age has been proven to be merely parasitic off the cultures they've conquered and reduced to dhimmi servitude. That every country under sharia is corrupt, belligerent, desolate and barbaric obviously gives them no pause, except to constantly drive them into further psychotic rage as they refuse to ever accept any responsibility for their conditions. They are akin to the powers in Orwell's 1984; there must always be an enemy. It's no surprise that women are treated like property in these countries as that's the only way Muslim men can feed their egos, to dominate others rather than ever actually produce something."
Kfir Alfia and Alan Lipton, founders of "Protest Warrior"
Their 'protest signs'...
I thought you might be interested in this group's sentiments. They are currently very actively editing their own article on Wiki and there is a lot of 'group think'. Perhaps you might want to become involved in the editing and discussion process on that page. If you do, please don't vandalize, and try to remain civil. Should you not want to involve youself, please forgive my intrusion.

Excuse Me,
You deleted a page that I tried to contribute. I know it was a small page, but it took me 90 minutes to do. I'm not trying to be mean or ignorant or even get kicked off of here, but there are lesser known skateboarders than joe weber that have pages on here, and I even see no name dvd and internet porn stars that have their own page.
I know the guy doesnt love media attention but im almost positive this site can not get in trouble.
So, I am sorry, I just dont know what I did wrong, and if I really did something wrong could you tell me what it was cause he is my favorite skater, and he really is better than about a fifth of the skaters that have articles.
Please Reply,
thank you

Thank you for responding about the deletion of the joe weber pro skateboard article, im sorry about how I acted, it wasnt that important, i was just a little upset cause it took me a while to gather most of the facts and make the article. Anyway, he's more of a North East Us skater, mainly popular in the under ground skate community, not like an X-games guy. But, I did the google search and only got 4 links about him telling very very little, so I understand about the Wikipedia thing. So once again I'm sorry and thank you for explaining. I did see him in a seen with Ryan Dunn and Bam Margera in Jackass number Two on Friday, He might even be credited in the movie so check that out if you are interested. Im not saying that for you to put the article back up, just want you to know I'm not making stuff up.
Thanks again,
Steven
Thanks for uploading Image:Icca06 cropped.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 00:22, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Could you please explain to me why you deleted the page Dennis Pethers that I created. Surely he is classed as a man of notibility? He is an author, and the founder of a well established Christian organisation. He certainly passes the Google test too. You did not provide any explanation for the deletion of this page; I would appreciate it if you did so. I do not see that his notability should be an issue, and I'm sure lots of people would like to read more about the man and contribute to the article.

— Quarl ( talk) 2006-10-05 08:49Z
I just wanted to second the comments from Quarl - I've very, very rarely seen articles speedy deleted that have survived AfD and all of those deletions have been Office or Jimbo type actions. I think its a great idea for you to re-open AfD discussions and point out the fallacies in the first go round, but please don't delete any more articles in this manner. I understand your concerns about their actual notability, but since multiple administrators have expressed concerns, it looks like this issue needs wider discussion. Shell babelfish 10:13, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
The above articles have been restored. It is worth noting that you had twice deleted the Aliyah Yi article despite a fairly recent no consensus outcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aliyah Yi. Please allow me to reiterate the request to decist the deletion of articles in this manner; if there is a dispute regarding the merits of an article, please bring it to AFD for discussion instead. Thanks, Can't sleep, clown will eat me 10:23, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello, I have noticed you are biasly deleting articles that do not fall into the speedy delete category. This is very harmful to Wikipedia and is clearly a violation of your abilities as an admin. I noticed this when you recently delete pornographic actress Brooke Ashley (later restored by Brookie). Not only does Brookie Ashley not fall into the speedy delete category, but is also a notable adult performer. I have evidence to supporting her notability as well. She is one of the few adult entertainer who contracted HIV and formerly holds a pornographic record. Her name brings over 110,000 hits on google, she has an article on German wikipedia, has AVN article [11], and has been referenced (mentioned) by Luke Ford [12], [13]. It seems apperant that you have not done research before deleting. Also if you feel an article such is this is not notable, please nominate it for AfD. Valoem talk 17:04, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Alexis is one of my favourite porn stars from the UK. I am a big fan of hers and have met her at fan events. I have revied her entry several times and logged on today to make a contribution bu it has gone. I clicke the deletion log link to request that it has been deleted for it to either be put back or if you would be good enough to email me the entry it seems such a shame that such a comprehensive entry on her should just disappear. Since your userbox page is protected, I wonder if you wouldn't mind making a change to it for me. On Wikipedia:User_categories_for_discussion#Patrollers, we have changed category:User Wikipedia/RC patrollers (NCR) to category:Wikipedian recent changes patrollers. This doesn't affect the userbox itself, just the category it leads to. Can you make that switch on your page so we can delete the old category? (Also, if you're feeling generous, could you go into User:Tijuana Brass and change category:User Wikipedia/Welcoming Committee to category:Wikipedians in the Welcoming Committee for the same reason? I'd appreciate that, as I don't have the admin superpowers necessary to make that happen.) Thanks!-- Mike Selinker 15:04, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I noticed that you removed the word pre-existing from Dick Cheney. It is a perfectly good word meaning "existing before something else". It is often used in health insurance to describe a condition that existed before the start of coverage. In the context of the article, it meant that the foot condition existed prior to the cardiovascular condition, and I think it was correctly used in this case. -- Coneslayer 23:01, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I mean, the guy is famous, he's on google, he was a model, he's an heir to a fortune, he's been linked to Linsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, and most recently, Brittney Spears, in which context I just saw him mentioned on E! I noticed that you edited several parts of the "Meddiebempsters" entry due to the fact that the group's Web site is "nearly devoid of content." This is because the site's server is experiencing difficulties. I recommend that you monitor the Web site and restore the content you removed from the group's entry once the site has returned to normalcy and you have verified it as a source.

A user posted the same message about Bosniakophobia on several dozen talk pages. It was determined to be loosely targeted spam, and was decided on the Administrator's Noticeboard that the best way to deal with it was simply to roll it all back. After someone has spammed a number of users, rollback is the only step that can be taken to discourage those actions, and so I and at least one other user set about reverting those edits at the request of some users affected. This was not about my stance on this issue one way or the other; on the contrary, I did it because I'm neutral on this issue. (Well, in full disclosure, I'm more than neutral: I'm completely ignorant.) This mass revert was simply about talk page and spam policy, nothing else. I apologize for any confusion caused. My main concern is that most of the info in these articles comes exclusively from the members' personal experiences and the group's websites. Thus, simply moving that info to another article would generally not be a solution. Very few of them can adequately described as an offshoot of the gleeclub (although the Cornell one you mentioned is). I happened to notice that you are from Cornell. Insofar as I now appreciate that my
edit summary was undesirably obtuse, I should observe that I wasn't myself tagging the article as {{
db-spam}} but rather properly formatting the {{
db-meta}} tag applied by another user to assert that the article was speediable per
G11. I didn't undertake, to be sure, to consider whether the tag was appropriate (I simply noticed the page's being improperly situated at
Category:Speedy deletion templates), but having looked at the article I think it plain that {{
db-spam}} did not entail (not only is the article surely not spam, but, insofar as it "survived" an AfD less than a month ago, it surely ought not to have been tagged under any speedy criterion), and that I ought probably to have taken the extra three seconds to make such ascertainment myself. Thanks, in any case, for detagging, and my apologies for having been too busy lazy to have removed the tag myself. Cheers,
Joe 00:26, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Re your message: I just saw your new article. Cool. When I read the article that was there before I deleted it, I thought it was somebody's autobiography, a hoax, or perhaps a copyvio (that "...a heart filled with hope." sounded rather over the top). -- Gogo Dodo 06:33, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps you missed this posted above:
I saw your prod and decided merging would make more sense. Now I see you deleted the reference in the merged article. Neologisms are subject to WP:CSD as standalone articles as I'm sure you know. However, I am not aware of a guideline discouraging the use of common alternative slang names. As slang terms are not typically covered in more reputable publications, it would seem to make sense to "lower the bar" slightly for their inclusion, especially when the technical term, such as "value-priced fortified wine", is fairly obtuse. While " GHits" are obviously a shoddy gauge of notability, they are at least a broad populist measure of a term's popularity. I am performing a partial revert. If you disagree, you can revert me again and I won't restore it without a decent cite. However, this would probably be a poor use of both our time over such a minor point. — Dgies t c 01:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

I'd have to say while putting the AfD on hold until after the whole article thing blew over might have been a good idea, I don't see on what grounds you can possible have given it a speedy keep. Under speedy rules:
is the only thing that comes close, but others did recommend deleting it. Frankly, I believe it was a rash error to close, especially since you interjected your own opinion about notability into the mix. I suggest you reopen the discussion. You're right, there isn't a CSD for that, but another user creating the userpage of a user is generally frowned upon. User:Potus7 is a new user, so I was seeking to help them out instead of them looking at their userpage and going "What the heck?!" Further, your notifying me of the removal while User:Potus7 removed it makes me believe that you two are related in some fashion, if not the same person. A simple explanation may clear all this up though, so: Why did you create User:Potus7's userpage? This was not a reflection upon you by any means. -- MECU≈ talk 22:55, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I noticed that you deleted the article for This Day and Age with a db-band. It should be noted that the article did categorize them as an indie band, thereby asserting their importance. While This Day and Age might have broken up and may not have been a very mainstream band, I believe they had a strong enough following to exclude them from the "unnotable" category as well. Please consider undeleting their article. 76.183.106.17 05:13, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello JDoorjam, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image ( Image:Cthulhupainting.jpg) was found at the following location: User:JDoorjam/Religions. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot) -talk 11:24, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:GBP logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. An editor has nominated Arch sing, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also " What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arch sing and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thanks for uploading Image:CCU seal.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:15, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Not sure what i have to do to get a response to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:JDoorjam#Highland_Society_Deletion
“ | The Highland and Gaelic Society article was deleted because I agreed with the sentiment of the editor who nominated it for speedy deletion: the group does not meet Wikipedia's notability standards. Having reviewed the content of the article just now, I stand by that decision. If you would like to appeal for undeletion, you may do so at deletion review. Again, I do not believe personally that the article should be undeleted, but am willing to assist you in posting at DRV if you so desire (though you will most likely find the process rather straightforward). | ” |

Thanks for uploading Image:GBP_logo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{ GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:49, 13 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 04:49, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Potus7.JPG.
If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 04:50, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading
Image:SMSac logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a
claim of fair use. However, it is currently
orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed.
You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see
our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot ( talk) 20:07, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Santorum splash.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot ( talk) 05:11, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Tuna casserole requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact
one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.

Thanks for uploading Image:Application_page1.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
{{
di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly hi! 13:28, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:Fable2logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Hi,
I noticed you deleted UniModal recently (April 12th). You cited some opinion you have of the article. Was there actually an AFD? Did you delete it based on some CSD criteria? I am very upset about this delete since you did not seem to notify *ANYONE* about it. I and many others have spent a whole hell of a lot of time on that page, and we have built it up with a good many cited sources and have made it quite objective.
If there is an AFD or something of the sort, I'd like to see it. If not, please replace the page so we can discuss deletion appropriately.
Please respond on my talk page. Fresheneesz ( talk) 22:24, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I believe this was illegitimately A7'ed, as they have two releases on One Eleven Records (an EastWest Records subsidiary and thus an important indie label), which meets WP:MUSIC; their third release on the label is out in less than a month. Here's their Allmusic profile, if you want to read more about them. Can I please have the page restored? Chubbles ( talk) 16:09, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi there,
I started the Linda Darling-Hammond article ages ago, and have been watching the controversy from afar and I'm not sure what to do - you seem informed so . . . can I ask what the problem is? Why are administrators involved? Does it matter what Dr. Hammond requests? Has she really requested anything? I don't want to become a reverter, but really the main reason she's interesting (gets press, gives lectures etc.) is the TFA study so it seems important to have it on there, otherwise she's verging on non-notable. I'm not looking to get involved at all, unless I can help somehow - but I am curious. Thanks so much in advance H0n0r ( talk) 22:00, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for taking care of the Rookie of the Year situation. I just found out that This Day and Age/ This Day & Age was also speedied; they also have two releases on One Eleven, and I can summon enough press coverage to substantiate them under bullet 1 of WP:MUSIC as well. Could you please restore this one, too? Chubbles ( talk) 13:41, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
A
proposed deletion template has been added to the article
Truman National Security Project, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's

Hello from WikiProject San Francisco Bay Area!

Because the Signpost hasn't been sent in a while, to save space, I've condensed all seven issues that were not sent into this archive. Only the three issues from November are below.
