Nenna Yvonne Nenna Yvonne [Nnenna Yvonne Okpala] was Born March 30 1989 to Florence and Christian Okpala in Enugu, Nigeria. She has 3 siblings Ikenna Okpala, Obinna Okpala and Ugonna Okpala. At the age of three, her father traveled to New York and a year later the rest of her family would follow. Once settled in New York City Nenna began attending kindergarden a year later at PS 138, she would stay there until reaching the 7th grade then transfer to IS 59 through 8th grade. While attending PS 138 she participated in the school choir, it was here that her instructor noticed Nenna's natural ability to sing. He began to coaching Nenna Yvonne after school. At age 14 Nenna Yvonne decided she wanted to attend Fiorello H. LaGuardia High school of Music and Arts and performing Arts. Her parents, a bit reluctant at the time to permit the 4 hour commute to and from home in Long Island also wanted to see their daughter progress with her artistic values and so they allowed her to attend school in Manhattan. From Music history classes to Sight reading classes, Nenna Yvonne prepared herself for her future as a recording artist. At age 15 Nenna Yvonne wrote poetry and from the age of 17, Nenna Yvonne started writing music and recording rough demos while in High school. After graduating LaGuardia High school with a 3.5 GPA and scouted to attend Julliard school of Music, she decided to attend Business school and learn everything she could about the business of writing and publishing music.
Nenna Yvonne is the first electronic Pop recording artist/Songwriter to successfully release in the U.S.A digitally With a captivating and glamorous presence well beyond her 21 years, singer and songwriter Nenna Yvonne has taken the Internet by storm with more than six million total song plays on social media sites through out the web.
Today, Nenna Yvonne showcases her songwriting talent with her production partner IAMDTOX and The release of her debut EP “Model Citizen,” a compilation of Top 40 Pop songs featuring many of the hits that have brought her worldwide attention.
Voted a “Top Ten Artist” on StereoFame.com and the subject of numerous favorable reviews and blogs from music industry icons such as Billboard Magazine and KingsofAR.com, Nenna is now preparing to release her first music video, “Don’t Know Me”
