E.F.F.L (European Fantasy Football Liga) was formed in 2007 by league president Garret Joseph, and is currently contested by 16 clubs. The Liga is a simulated league run on a PC using the game "Football Manager 2008".
After starting with 16 clubs, the league contracted to 12 clubs prior to season 2 . Prior to the start of Season 2, the top 6 clubs in Division One broke away from the D1 league and thus the bottom clubs were forced to create Division Two which began play during season 2.
Following the conclusion of the season 1, Liverpool FC were relocated to
Manhattan, New York and renamed
New York Metrostars. However, Liverpool FC's name and history were not transferred, with the possibility of an expansion club returning to Liverpool some time in the future. Other clubs to relocate included Los Angeles Aztecs relocating to Schalke 04 and Juventus FC relocating to Suwon Blue Wings.
