High School

Chris attended New London High School where he set and holds school records in the 4X800 running 8:00 flat, the 800m ran in a time of 1:55.53, the 1600m time of 4:11.61, the 3200m ran in a time of 8:50.85, and a cross country 5k ran in a time of 15:27. During Chris' cross country seasons he was conference champion his junior and senior years coming in 3rd his sophomore year and 24th his freshman year. Came in 8th place his sophomore year at state and his junior was state champion with a time of 15:27. His senior year of cross country he was again, state champ running a time of 15:42. During Chris' four years of high school track. He was conference champion his sophomore in the 4X800, 1600m, 3200m and qualified for state in the 1600m, ran a time of 4:21.22 and 3200m ran a time of 9:26.30. His junior track season he was the conference champion in the 1600m and 3200, and qualified for state in the 1600 and 3200. Running, at state his 1600 in a time of 4:15.09 and the 3200m in a time of 9:12.80. His senior years he again was conference champion in the 4X800, 1600m, and the 3200m, and qualifying for state in the 4X800, 1600m, and 3200m. He was state champion in the 1600m running a time of 4:11.61. Was honored as First Team All- American. Also placing 3rd at Nike Outdoor Nationals in the 2 miles running a time of 8:53.94.

College

Chris graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2010 with a coaching and communications degree. In 2006 Chris wins the Individual Big Ten Championship for Cross Country with a time of 24:05. Going on to place in the top 14 to earn an All- American Title at the NCAA Championships. [1] In 2007 Rombough earns First- Team Big Ten honors finish fourth over all with a time of 23:54.48. In 2008 Rombough again earns Big Ten First-Team Big Ten honors in cross country. [2] Also in 2008 Rombough get the Big Ten title in track running the 10,000m. [3] In 2009 Chris received an All American for the 3,000m in the indoor track season. [4] Rombough has also earned four All American titles in cross country.

Post College

Chris ran post college for Team USA Minnesota. He competed in track and field races and also cross country racing. Rombough got the opportunity to represent USA, uniform and all, at the NACAC Cross Country Championships. [5] During this time Chris was also volunteer assistant men's cross country coach at the University of Minnesota. Now Chris Rombough is the head cross country coach at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls.
