Moi
I am originally from
Lévis, Quebec and I currently live in
Montreal, Quebec.
I have traveled all across Canada, except
Newfoundland and Labrador and the three territories. I've been in 38 of the US states so far, and I'm only missing
Rhode Island east of the Mississippi (although technically I have been in
Connecticut, I went through it on the
Vermonter, but I haven't set foot on it yet). Of the 38 states, my favorites include
California,
Colorado,
Kentucky,
New Mexico,
New York,
Pennsylvania,
Utah,
Vermont, and
West Virginia.
My favorite places include, in no particular order, of any size and for no reason in particular:
Alsace,
Cape May,
Bruges,
Ljubljana,
Chicago,
Edinburgh,
Charleston,
New Orleans,
Percé,
Savannah,
Paris,
New York,
Washington,
Berlin,
Vienna,
Rome,
Venice,
Santa Fe,
Arles,
Watkins Glen,
Olomouc,
Woodstock, and
London.
I have created most of the original
Quebec Routes shells on Wikipedia. I'm glad that over time people have perfected them.
I am a big fan of
VIA Rail and
Amtrak. With VIA Rail, I have so far traveled on the Corridor only, Montreal-Quebec, Montreal-Ottawa, and Montreal-Toronto. With Amtrak, I have been on the
Adirondack between Montreal and New York City,
Northeast Regional on a Baltimore to New York City and a Philadelphia to New York City, the
Vermonter between St. Albans and New York City, the
Maple Leaf between New York City and Niagara Falls, NY, the
Crescent between
New Orleans and
Birmingham, and the
Empire Builder between
St. Paul and
Chicago. I have also travelled extensively by train in Europe, including the marvellous TGV trains in France, the very efficient ICE trains in Germany, the sometimes late and sometimes on-strike regional trains in Italy and France, the cheap Belgian trains, and the not-so-quick Slovenian trains (actually similar speed as to what we have in Canada and USA.)
I have visited 22 countries so far. Canada, United States, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, Dominica, France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Vatican, Monaco, Greece and Cyprus.
