PT Visi Media Asia Tbk (operating as VIVA) is a media holding company headquartered in Jakarta. For supporting its business until 2021, the company was have 83 broadcast stations across Indonesia to support its operations [4] [5]. This company is part of Bakrie Group
PT Visi Media Asia was originally founded as PT Semesta Kolina, owned by Raden Deni Julianto and Andi Pravidia Saliman. On July 21, 2006, the old shareholder transferred 99% ownership to PT Capital Managers Asia/CMA (affiliated with Bakrie Group) and the name has since changed to PT Visi Media Asia. In 2007-2008, there were other shareholders, including PT Recapital Advisors (owned by Sandiaga Uno and Rosan Roeslani) [6] with 10% and Erick Thohir with 1.3%, but then it was sold to PT CMA in mid-2008. The company's operations effectively began in 2007 when Lativi was acquired by the Bakrie family, which was owned by Abdul Latief. During the acquisition of the TV channel, later named tvOne, 49% was directly controlled by VIVA, 31% by its subsidiary PT Redal Semesta, and the rest by other parties. This multi-party composition of shares continued until 2010, when later 99% of tvOne's shares were fully owned by VIVA, until now [8] [9]. In 2008, VIVA's business was strengthened by the acquisition of PT Intermedia Capital, which acquired 99% of ANTV shares the following year (2009), and at the end of the year, the news website vivanews.com was also launched. Two TV channels and news portals are still the mainstays of VIVA's business today, but in 2014 they also tried to enter the subscription TV industry under the viva+ brand (previously planned as B-TV) and they did did and tried. to create a sports television network called sportOne.
Visi Media Asia was officially listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange on November 21, 2011. The IPO was conducted at an offer price of IDR 280/share and released 14.2% of its ownership to the public.
In 2019, tvOne acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast the Oneprix motorsport event. The company then also launched the VIVA Networks brand to house some of its digital assets. [5]
