Eswar is an Indian Cinematographer who works mainly in the Tamil film industry,
who is commonly know by his screen name “Theni Eswar”.He born to his parents ramar and Lakshmi in Theni the scenic town in Tamilnadu. Eswar develop his interest in cinema mainly in cinematography when he was young. Upon completion of his studies he is passionate about Cinematography then he develop his skills from basics then starts photography and he got many accolades in that. His first movie is alagar saamyin kudhirai that film got couple of national awards then he collaborated with south India leading directors like ram, Gowtham Menon and bala.
He married to kavitha and the couple has a daughter and a son
Early Life
Eswar was born in the scenic town of theni, a district in Tamilnadu, to Ramar and lakshmi. Eswar grew up in Theni completing his schooling and he graduated in diploma in Automobile engineering. In his college days he took up photography as he was always fascinated by and dreamt of becoming a cinematographer in movies. The scenic beauty in his hometown inspired him to start his career in photography. He went on to recieve accolades and awards for his photgraphy, mainly “Kodak Award” for street photography at an all India Level. He spent most of his early life in Theni before he moved to chennai.
Personal life
Eswar was born to his parents Ramar and Lakshmi. He married to Kavitha the couple has two childrens a daughter and a son.
Film Career
Eswar was always interested in cinematography and thus moved to chennai in to start his career as a Cinematographer. During his search for a job as an assistant cinematographer he met Baskar Sakthi a prominent writer in Anada Vikatan who was at that time wrting a series called “Route Bus” and was given the role of photographing the Scenic routes of travel, places and the locals. He shot the first look as a photographer for some films like sivapathigaram, kattradhu thamizh, vennila kabadi kuzhu etc. During the shoot of vennila kabadi kuzhu, Director Suseenthiran was mesmerised with his work and gave him an opportunity as a Cinematographer for his next film “Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai” the film released in May 2011 and received couple of national awards too. Then he collaborated with some of the leading directors like Bala, Ram & Gowtham Menon. He worked with Ram in the film “Tharamani” which was his second venture and he is credited as “Additional Cinematographer” in Goutham Menon’s Movie “Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada”. He also shot Director Bala’s movie “Naachiyar” which released in 2018. Another film in which he worked with debutant director Lenin Bharathi titled “Merku Thodarchi Malai” released the same year. The film was critically acclaimed and screened in many international and national film festivals. He won a “Best Cinematographer Award” in Norway Tamil film festival and bioscope film festival held in Punjab. He again collaborated with director Ram in the movie “Peranbu” with actor Mammootty as the lead ,the film released in feb 2019.
