Yeah, if you've got the time. Don't feel as though it's the most pressing issue facing the world at the moment, though. --

Hi, I recently saw some vandalism of
User:Jaranda's user page and talk page. I removed the same, but then got a vandalism warning myself from Anti-vandal-bot. Probably because his/her user page was initially empty prior to the vandalism, so it looked like I blanked his/her page. I have notified Antivandalbot, but if you would be so kind as to remove the vandalism warning from my talk page, it would be appreciated. I am an RC patroller, and having warnings on my page will cause problems. --

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Hiya, I have recently finished massive work on the article
Buffy the Vampire Slayer article, and it just about received Featured article status. But it really needs a professional copyeditor to go over it with a fresh pair of eyes. Do you have time for such an undertaking & down the line, I'd love to give an article of your choice a copyedit? --
Paxomen 16:17, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I'd love to give it a scan; however, I've been slammed with college work and whatnot, so it might take a few days (I still have to finish working on A New Hope). I'll try my best to get to it in the near future ^_^ — Deckiller 16:56, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
It appears to already be a featured article o.O — Deckiller 17:10, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Ah okay, you just want to polish it up and ensure that it doesn't go on FAR. I'll give it a look when I get a chance ^_^ — Deckiller 17:12, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, there were some suggestions at
Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Buffy the Vampire Slayer that the prose should be improved (especially from
Tony), and the article will only really deserve featured status after an improvement. Because it has officially been through FAC, this isn't urgent, so whenever you are free to look at sections.. I didn't realise you were currently copyediting the Star Wars IV article :) Thanks for helping out, it should really give the article the chance to make front page. My writing skills are by no means superb but I'd be happy any time you'd like a hand copyediting an article for fluidity, spelling and grammar. Thanks --
Paxomen 23:28, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
It's in FAC right now. What's your take on the plot section? --

Haha My adminship made it onto this list! Plus I was involved in most of the star wars debates and the Wii one. Hmm I going to try to get back into Wikipedia during winter break but it is really hard due to all my school work. I'll definitly be back by the summer at least :p

Hello! I've noticed your work on Star Wars articles and others and was going to see if I could entice you to help with a good copyedit of the Firefly article? It was nominated yesterday for FAC, and one commenter said we should find an outside copyeditor to give it a run through... If you take bribes, how about the {{BrowncoatAward}}? Thanks! --

Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider
signing up to be a coach.
Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by
HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started;
please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to
MiszaBot, courtesy of
Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
There is now a new program: the
Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered;
join the discussion if you are interested!
In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election,
HighwayCello.
Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to
Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Requesting a favor
Hi. I'm a small time user in need of some help. I've spent the past four months working on an article called
Empires: Dawn of the Modern World. The game has been in an
FAC for a while now, and just recently it was objected over prose by a couple users, one of them being
Tony 1. I was told that are an excellent writer by a friend named
JimmyBlackwing. He told me that until the article is copyedited by multiple editors, it will not be passed. If at all possible, could you maybe look it over if you get a chance? If you can't, that's okay, but I'm at the end of my rope. I've done everything in my power to improve this, but there is nothing I can do about prose. Thanks for taking the time to read this (if you still are).--
Clyde Miller 01:37, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
P.S. No hurry. I've been there too (how did I miss that the first time I read your userpage? My apologies).--
Clyde Miller 01:51, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Well I like the wording, but I think Tony liked it better with just the civilizations. I'll drop a note on the FAC page as what the general opionon is. by the way thanks for all the help (so far?).--
Clyde Miller 03:04, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Okay. by the way, is it me or has the edit links become very large? What's the deal?--
Clyde Miller 15:18, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
RfA Thanks
Mike's RfA Thanks
Deckiller: Thanks very much for your support at
my RfA. Unfortunately, it was clear that no consensus was going to be reached, and I have withdrawn the request at a final tally of 31/17/5. Regardless, I really appreciate your confidence in me. Despite the failure, rest assured that I will continue to edit Wikipedia as before. If all goes well, I think that I will re-apply in January or February. -
