I'm an artist, writer, and Professor Emerita of Digital Media at the University of California, Irvine. Here I work on filling in some of Wikipedia's gaps regarding the history of women in the arts, sciences, technology, and literature, along with random stuff that catches my eye. I'm particularly interested in the two generations of "New Women" born between about 1860 and 1890.
I've participated in and have organized meetups aimed at getting underrepresented groups more involved in Wikipedia as editors, and to increase the number of pages about notable women and related topics. In 2015 and the first half of 2016, I ran a monthly meetup in Los Angeles. I also taught with Wikipedia in some of my courses and give workshops and talks on my experience with Wikipedia as a pedagogical tool.
