This page aims to keep track of the various known and suspected socks of
User:Maleabroad. The motivation is to consolidate sock investigations in one place.
Note that socks sometimes appear as unregistered IP users, often from the IP range 136.159.32.*
Familiar disruptive edits related to historical claims, angry edit summaries. First two edits made were to
Shiva, both eidts involving controversial historical points that are part of the complex of Hindutva ideas.

Familiar pattern of disruptive edits on
Lingam and now
Christianity. I think he is changing his pattern of pages following the very strong action against him.

I suspect that Maleabroad is now involved with
Lingam in connection with previous vandalism related to the
Ligayat sect, as another confirmed sock of his (
ChangeDetection) has been active there. See: [
[7]]. For those who may be unfamiliar with this issue, the Lingayats are connected with certain social and political themes which Maleabroad espouses, and the Linga is an important symbol for them.

In a clever twist,
User:Philosopher1 has accused me of being a sock of Maleabroad. See:
[8]. In response to my vandalism report he was given a short block per this edit:

Username fits a common pattern of his involving use of 1 at end of a capitalized word, plus tension between Buddhist and Hindus and concern about use of the word Hindu for Brahmanic.

Active in same time period as sock
User:Solidentry, main activity is to tag things as "brahmin" including Buddhist items. He appears to be on a Buddhist theme today.

Vandalized my user page

It may be too early to be sure that this is Maleabroad, but I have a gut feeling that the disruptive pattern of editing here is a sign of a tactic change. The pattern of immediately going into an edit war is characteristic on this brand new account. If he is not getting results on Hinduism pages he may be moving to direct disruption of Buddhism articles. Please put
Buddhism on your watch pages. Edits show preoccupation with the origin of Buddhism.

[20] shows preoccupation with Buddhist verus Hindu themes.
Buddhipriya 01:18, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
[21] shows interest in Prahlada and external links related to Shrimad Bhagavatam; compare with
this diff by another sock already blocked.

Reference to sanatana dharma, reference to "fatherland", use of picture (you can recognize the scanner he uses) and edit immediately following one by Abcedare.

At first I was not not sure if this is a sock of Maleabroad or one of the other POV pushers, but it is definitely a sock of ChangeDetection, placking links to the web site, and editing on the same pages in some cases. It is proven to be Maleabroad by evidence for ChangeDetection.
Buddhipriya 01:08, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Note use of term "sanatana dharma" in nationalist sense:

I am not sure if this is a sock of Maleabroad or one of the other POV pushers, but it is definitely a sock of Bandwidthx, placking links to the web site.

Buddha as avatar of Visnu is a dead giveaway that this is Maleabroad.
[29]Buddhipriya 01:17, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Another example of preoccupation with Buddha/Vishnu connections
[30]Buddhipriya 01:23, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Active on
Buddha as an Avatar of Vishnu showing preoccupation with idea of Buddha as an avatar of Vishnu. Also note typical phrasing on his edit summary.
[32]Buddhipriya 04:11, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Note term "neo-Buddhist" and preoccupation with Brahmins. Of possible use to flag new socks that express similar ideas.

Edit to
Culture of India uses a multilingual picture for Aum. Use of poor-quality images with copyvio problems is common.
[45]Buddhipriya 01:41, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Note prior use of same aum image (102 0449.JPG) by ENV1.

Preoccupation with vegetarianism.
[48]Buddhipriya 01:25, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Preoccupation with vegetarianism and familiar behavior of trying to get into a revert war instead of moving a dispute to talk page

Anti-Muslim rhetoric "Though cow-slaughter is officially banned in many parts of India, it is difficult to enforce the law and many people, most often the Muslims who consider the meat to be halal, illegally slaughter cows, and claim it is halal"
[50]. Compare preoccupation with cows by Benevolent56 ("In both religions, the cow is the most sacred animal."
