The Upemba masked weaver (Ploceus upembae) is a species of weaver in the genus Ploceus. [2] Some taxonomists regard it as a subspecies of the Katanga masked weaver ( Ploceus katangae). Based on how recent the split was, it is thought to estimate how large the population is, therefore it is listed as data deficient. It has a decreasing population trend. [3]
