Trzebicz [ˈtʂɛbit͡ʂ] ( German: Trebitsch)[ citation needed] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Drezdenko, within Strzelce-Drezdenko County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. [1] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) west of Drezdenko, 17 km (11 mi) south-east of Strzelce Krajeńskie and 35 km (22 mi) east of Gorzów Wielkopolski.

The village had a population of 734 in 2009.

History

During World War II, the Germans enslaved Poles, Frenchmen and Russians as forced labour in the village. [2] On August 11, 1942, the Gestapo carried out a public execution of a 24-year-old Polish man, accused of raping a German girl. [2]

Sports

The local football club is Uran Trzebicz. It competes in the lower leagues.
