Plains of Abraham Park became the first historic site to be protected by the federal government, acting as a catalyst for the establishment of the
National Historic Site of Canada system in 1919

Capitale-Nationale played host to a major world sporting event, the
World Police and Fire Games, which was a success for the city, with as many as 11,000 athletes and 14,000 persons accompanying them, making 25,000 persons in total.
