Thomas Habinek (December 25, 1953 – January 19, 2019) was an American classical scholar.
He specialized in Latin literature and Roman cultural history.
Habinek received his AB in classics from Princeton University in 1975, [1] and later completed his PhD in classical philology from Harvard University in 1981. [1]
He was a professor of classics at University of Southern California [1] from 1992 – 2019, and received two fellowships from the American Council of Learned Societies and the Associates' Award for Excellence in Teaching. [1] He died on January 19, 2019, at the age of 65. [2]
