List-class articles

There is no automatic category for List-class politics articles, maybe this should be fixed... - Ilse @ 15:12, 27 February 2007 (UTC) reply

Bug reports

There are a couple of bug reports in a template that transcludes this one, that look relevant. Template talk:WikiProject Political parties. -- Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) ( Talk) 18:43, 3 April 2015 (UTC) reply

No importance code for task force articles

moved from Template talk:WikiProject Political parties and followed up here

(The task force template) also fails for apparently correct importance=low. The categorization is correct, but the presentation omits the importance. See for example: [1] -- Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) ( Talk) 18:31, 3 April 2015 (UTC) reply

@ Hroðulf: It was removed at 15:51, 19 February 2015. You should ask Jj98 ( talk · contribs), who made that edit, why they "don't care". -- Redrose64 ( talk) 08:25, 7 April 2015 (UTC) reply

@ Jj98: Does the removal of this parameter affect Wikipedia 1.0 ? Please either restore the importance code to the template, or update the wikiproject and template documentation, and post a bulletin at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics. The relevant documentation pages I checked before I reported this as a bug are at:

Template-protected edit request on 11 April 2018

Add Gun politics task force. Proposed version can be seen at Template:WikiProject_Politics/sandbox. – dlthewave 14:47, 11 April 2018 (UTC) reply

Not done for now: too much regression would result. Please base your changes on the current template, not one that is three years old. -- Redrose64 🌹 ( talk) 18:12, 11 April 2018 (UTC) reply
@ Redrose64: I've updated the sandbox version with the current template, could you take a look at it again? This is my first template edit so any guidance would be appreciate. Thanks – dlthewave 01:30, 13 April 2018 (UTC) reply
OK,  Done -- Redrose64 🌹 ( talk) 18:35, 13 April 2018 (UTC) reply

Task force deprecation

According to this edit by Mr. Guye ( talk · contribs), four of the task forces are defunct, hence the associated parameters are deprecated. Is there a proposal anywhere to remove these parameters from the template proper? -- Redrose64 🌹 ( talk) 07:22, 16 July 2018 (UTC) reply

@ Redrose64 and Mr. Guye: I just made some changes to the template sandbox on this matter. It would seek to put the defunct task forces into the note section instead of side-by-side with the active ones. Would there be any objection to this change? – MJLTalk 21:07, 9 May 2019 (UTC) reply

There has been no objection to this change, so I'm going to assume that it's fine. Please, Copy and Paste code found at {{ WikiProject Politics/sandbox}}. Cheers, – MJLTalk 02:53, 4 July 2019 (UTC) reply

nvm. Let me make some changes. – MJLTalk 03:03, 4 July 2019 (UTC) reply

Please sync with Sandbox. I've re-ordered the task forces and added a new WikiProject which has merged with WP:POLITICS MJLTalk 15:06, 11 March 2020 (UTC) reply

MJL, is there any particular reason for the rearrange, or is it just a convenient side effect of adding the new task force? What is the new order, and how is it different from the old? Primefac ( talk) 17:48, 11 March 2020 (UTC) (please ping on reply) reply
@ Primefac: I moved the inactive/defunct task forces to the bottom of the list (see above; this was easier than what I said I was going to do). – MJLTalk 19:31, 11 March 2020 (UTC) reply

@ WOSlinker: why did you undo your change to this template? — Martin ( MSGJ ·  talk) 13:55, 6 September 2023 (UTC) reply

@ MSGJ: _PAGETYPE_ didn't work in the inactive taskforces section of the template. -- WOSlinker ( talk) 19:47, 6 September 2023 (UTC) reply
That's true, it won't work with the hooks. — Martin ( MSGJ ·  talk) 21:12, 6 September 2023 (UTC) reply

The template transclusion chain goes {{ WikiProject Politics}} -> {{ WikiProject Politics/doc}} -> {{ No subst}} -> {{ Never substitute}} -> {{ Always substitute|yesnomaybe=never}}. Seems like the naming of Category:Wikipedia substituted templates is somewhat vague and inconsistent with how it is actually populated (templates where a decision on to substitute or not to substitute has been made). It is however distinct from Category:Wikipedia templates to be automatically substituted which is for templates that should be substituted and can be done so by a bot.
