This template section has so small font that it cant be read, secondly the Auto Union is not know as Audi today.. if you read the main Audi page there is explanation as "The Audi emblem is four overlapping rings that represent the four marques of Auto Union. The Audi emblem symbolizes Audi amalgamation of Audi with DKW, Horch and Wanderer: the first ring represents Audi, the second represents DKW, third is Horch, and the fourth and last ring Wanderer." I would say the DKW is known as Audi today.. only the logo is left from Auto Union --— Typ932 T | C 07:55, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- Your summary of Auto Union and Audi isn't correct. To go back to the bare-roots origins, before Auto Union - there were four separate German companies: Horch (founded 1899), Audi (f.1910), DKW (f.1916) and Wanderer (f.1896, started to use the 'Wanderer' name from 1911) which existed as utterly separate companies before Auto Union was formed.
- In 1932 Auto Union was formed from the amalgamation of the four previous companies.
- Following Auto Unions' purchase by Daimler-Benz, and its subsequent sale to Volkswagen, the 'Auto Union' name was discontinued, and the former independent 'Audi' marque was re-used, but continued with the 4-ring logo of the former Auto Union. This new Audi company was subsequently merged with a 5th marque, NSU, gaining an unwiedly offical name of 'Audi NSU Auto-Union AG' - which was later shortend to todays name - 'AUDI AG'.
- Therefore, it would be correct to state that the modern-day "Audi" (rather than the historical Audi) is an evolution of the former Auto Union and NSU companies. This is confirmed by two current issues - firstly, Audi still uses the Auto Union four-rings as its logo, and secondly, Audi is publically traded on its relevent stock markets using "NSU" as its short name and ticker name.

- Regarding the small font, I have a large monitor with a high resolution, so it doesn't seem too bad to me, but I'll change it, and perhaps you'd be kind enough to give further feedback. I do appreciate your assistance and help. :)
- As a final thought, are these navboxes really meant to give a brief overview - rather than stating finite, or absolute detail? The articles themselves should really have the "nitty-gritty" full facts, leaving the navboxes to show very brief "key" points. Kind regards. --

What is this "German Auto Association" that apparently founded VW? According to The VW Story by Jerry Sloniger (Patrick Stephens, 1980), the pre-war forerunner of VW, Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Volkswagen was founded by the Deutsche Arbeitsfront. Letdorf ( talk) 20:19, 14 October 2008 (UTC).

- I say again: what is this "German Auto Association"? Do you have any references? According to their own chronicle, Volkswagen Group (Volkswagen AG) is the present-day name for Volkswagenwerk AG (changed in in 1985), which was previously Volkswagenwerk GmbH (until 1960), and before that, Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH (until 1938), the company set up by the DAF in 1937. Before 1965, when Volkswagenwerk AG acquired Auto Union GmbH, the "Group" and the "cars marque" were one and the same! Please refrain from reverting good faith edits if you don't have supporting reliable sources. Letdorf ( talk) 10:36, 12 March 2009 (UTC).

- Yes, in its current state, "Volkswagen Group" would be a better name. Either that, or we prune it back to something like its original form? IMHO, it seems to be becoming more like a mind map than a navbox. Letdorf ( talk) 16:24, 19 March 2009 (UTC).
