Thanks for the link to the article on Sporades from the Skopelos page. However, I believe referring to the group of islands as the "Northern Sporades" is correct. The Republic of Greece refers to these islands as the Northern Sporades. I'd change the link myself but I'm not sure how! Skopelos-Slim 05:22, 22 June 2007 (UTC) reply

Apparently there are several "sporades" groups, at least in history. I believe this group is referred to as "Northern" to distinguish them from the others.
