I really don't see a need for this template. Everything it does is better done by categories, lists or more specific navigational templates. It seems to have been created simply as an equivalent to the US state nav boxes. --

I support keeping the template, but it should be cleaned/enhanced to contain information covering the state. Remove the Adelaide metropolitan LGAs. Add more general state-wide topics. Perhaps the major highways. Add things like
Rail transport in South Australia (there is no
Transport in South Australia article),
History of South Australia and any other state-wide topics. Finding things to add to this template might be a way to focus future effort on the SA (Adelaide) Wikiproject. --

The only thing I'd like this template converted into is a topics box in the
South Australia article (like {{
Australia topics}} in
Australia). I really don't like the idea of general South Australian topics nav box being added arbitrarily to random articles. I think specialised templates are more useful because of their focus. There probably is a need for a {{
regions of South Australia}} template, which is one thing this template attempts to cover; in fact, we already have a {{
wine regions of South Australia}}. I'd be hesitant to create a nav box for South Australian cities, as there isn't a clear-cut definition. Every other feature of this template is redundant.--

Keep but judicious use and shrink down. Useful for someone who knows nothing about australia.

I removed the Adelaide LGAs as there is an {{
Local Government Areas of South Australia}} template for them. I added a start at a topics section, but most of the relevent categories do not have an overview article to link from here.
