There are some awards in separate fields of systems science. Beeing elected president of the SGSR has been an "informal" award here. - Thanks for the example, but at first site I don't think it is an improvement. Maybe you are right that it reads better, but this listing is also present in the Society for General Systems Research article. And that is all right. I don't like it that both have the same lay out.
- This template is just for navigation. If you don't use those columns the template is have the size.
- I guess an other reason I can't get used to it is, that the normal templates for exmple the template:systems science doesn't use those columns. I am used to reading these names inline. So sorry, but I am going to refert this. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker ( talk) 01:00, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- P.S. I have been developing about eight (what I call) horizontal templates, and I really got used to this format and all of them contains those inline listings. It is in the summary of my contributions on Wikipedia, and for example the list of systems. Creating those vertical columns is a horizontal template just doesn't seem right. I am sorry.
- Yes, the listing is duplicated in Society for General Systems Research. I think the Presidents section, which contains noting but a list, should be cut in favour of the collapsible template. It is true that without nice formatting, the content uses less space. However, whitespace is important for readability. I think it is a mistake to format according to the preference of someone used to reading it, you should consider the reader who is reading it for the first time. -- SmokeyJoe ( talk) 01:16, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- Personally I think the template isn't just for reading, but more important for navigation. The article(s) which you have read will highlight and will allways tell you what is next. In these templates the fonts have become to little to read it all. I don't know who made this up, put this is also a thing I personally don't like. That is why I like the normal listing in the article itself.
