Color scheme

The blue link text against the green and red backgrounds can be difficult to read with some monitors and fonts. Perhaps these background colors can be lightened or otherwise changed to improve readability. — ADavidB 15:49, 6 December 2008 (UTC) reply

I agree. I'm learning about these templates as I go. I'll play around with it and see what other colors I can find. If you have any ideas, please feel free to jump in. EastTN ( talk) 23:27, 7 December 2008 (UTC) reply
I've dropped in some lighter colors using color names taken from the article Web colors. The template seems to be recognizing all of the HTML and X11 color names I've tried. Does this look better? EastTN ( talk) 23:35, 7 December 2008 (UTC) reply
The new lighter background colors display much better – at least on my screen. Thanks — ADavidB 23:00, 8 December 2008 (UTC) reply

Text is rendered overlapping

When I view this template today, in multiple browsers, the "Christian Woman's Board of Missions" link overlays the text preceding and succeeding it. I'm just running up a flag hoping that a template expert will revisit this. Thanks! Jacona ( talk) 11:55, 14 October 2015 (UTC) reply

It's ultimately a weakness of the underlying {{ Simple Horizontal timeline}} template. I piped the link to "CWBM" and abbreviated a word in the previous text, to avoid the issue, though it seems to happen whenever the window is too narrow. — ADavidB 11:53, 15 October 2015 (UTC) reply
