Rise of the Planet of the Apes as part of the original series

I still haven't see a single reliable source saying Rise of the Planet of the Apes is part of the old series. As such it should be put on a separate line. -- Muhandes ( talk) 14:56, 29 May 2011 (UTC) reply

As an official prequel it is part of the original series. The film also features some of the old characters, Caesar for example. -- Boris Karloff II 16:08, 29 May 2011 (UTC) reply
If you have an official source saying it is a prequel, please add it to the article, and then the template may change. The article says it is a reboot, as no official studio source has said it is part of the original series. -- Muhandes ( talk) 08:30, 30 May 2011 (UTC) reply
The 2011 film is intended to start a new series. It should certainly not be listed as part of the original series.
Director Rupert Wyatt commented on the originality of the plot: "This is part of the mythology and it should be seen as that. It's not a continuation of the other films; it's an original story. It does satisfy the people who enjoy those films. The point of this film is to achieve that and to bring that fan base into this film exactly like Batman [Begins]." revert to way that looked better and was more helpful

I reverted the change [1] because there is no reason not to have everything sorted clearly, where you know which film was connected to which, and whatnot. Dream Focus 22:26, 10 September 2012 (UTC) reply
